According to democrat "leaders", isn't demand the key to bringing down gas prices??

Well that is the mantra of the environmental lobby. They want gas to be at $12 per gallon, then CO2 emissions will drop like a stone. (and unemployment will skyrocket ... but I guess you have to break a few eggs right?)

They want gasoline to be too expensive for the avg Joe to afford, yes, but it’s not for “CO2 emissions”.

They want us all herded onto public transportation with no individual freedom of travel,

while THEY drive their SUV’s, eat all they want, and keep their houses at 72 degrees year round.

Then things will be “right” with the world. The plebes will know their place and just shut up and obey.
