A drunken teenager who beat up a priest walked free yesterday after the judge accepted the attack was a 'one-off mistake'.
Babul Islam was one of three Asian youths who attacked Canon Michael Ainsworth in his churchyard.
The 19-year-old punched the vicar in the head while others kicked him ' one all¬egedly shouting 'f*****g priest' ' only stopping when passers-by intervened.
His battered victim spent nearly two weeks in hospital after the assault, which prosecutor Carl May-Smith said 'had a profound effect on him'.
The shop assistant admitted being extremely drunk during the attack but denied it was religiously-motivated ' a claim upheld by Judge Glenn Brasse.
Islam and the two other assailants set upon Mr Ainsworth in March, leaving him with cuts and bruises. When the 57-year-old clergyman returned to the congregation at St George-In-The-East church in Shadwell, east London, his face was still swollen and he had black eyes.
Islam, of nearby Limehouse, deserved a prison term for his crimes, Judge Brasse told him at Snaresbrook Crown Court. But he was told 'under the circumstances' a four-month suspended sentence, paying his victim £1,000 and 100 hours of unpaid work would suffice.
In the days following the attack, the Rev Alan Green, Dean of Tower Hamlets, said there were 'faith hate' incidents in the area every month.
The UK is turning into a cesspit, not helped by judicial lunacy like this which is all too common now.
Christian persecution which results in a two week hospital stay, is taken very very lightly. We can only assume that means a hate crime is not really a hate crime in the U K if the victim is a Christian.
The judge has Brasse alright...What nerve...a poor Priest, a man of God gets beaten by a drunken bum of a youth and the kid gets off and the priest has scars and memories for life...
Sorry to see the UK falling apart at the seams..But if it’s judges fail to uphold even the most basic laws of civility, the end of Britain’s staid civilization is apparently nearer than at first look...Pity the poor citizen, knowing the law coddles criminals and lets the people suffer..That Stanley, is quite Outrageous !

This woman Judge deserves to be set upon by three such youth herself for her to determine the difference between assault and a "mistake".
She says he deserves years in prison and then hands out a four month suspended sentence "under the circumstances"? I am dumbfounded.
When will the citizens of the UK take matters into their own hands?

Probably it would be a extra-judicial death penalty, comprising a basement room at the local mosque, orange jump-suit, a video camera, four slimeballs wearing balaclavas and a nut-job jabbering in arab and wielding a long, dull knife.
The real question is, why didn’t any Christians come to the priest’s aid, and why didn’t they deal resolutely to these thugs, so that there would be nothing left for the courts to try and acquit?
He was drunk. It couldn’t have been religiously motivated. He’s a bad Muslim.

Definitely not a hate-crime, by definition... Can’t have hate crimes, against white males, especially if they are Christian and the guy attacking was named “Islam”. Obviously it was just a mistake.
I don't think my English ancestors would have put up with this Shiite.
This brings so so many issues into the light of debate:
1. Should the “priest” have been a practitioner of Martial Arts?
2. Should the un Righteous Anglican Priests bother to defend themselves at all, or would that place their Civil Service Jobs at stake?
3. What impresses more, a Christian who can surprise, or a punching bag?
