Libertarian presidential candidate Bob Barr, a former Georgia congressman, said today that the Republican Party has utterly failed to present a "new program, new leadership or vision."
"What's wrong with John McCain is symptomatic of what's wrong with the Republican Party in these first years of the 21st century," Barr said on "Fox News Sunday." "They talk one thing but do something different, and that's become very obvious to the American people."
Barr said that he tends to agree with Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) on issues of civil liberties, while he tends to agree with McCain, a senator from Arizona, on issues of government spending and taxation.
"Neither of these candidates is talking about the deep cuts in government spending and returning power to the people that we are," Barr said

I still can’t see Bar a libertarian. It’s a farce.
ACLU assclown.
Sorry, “Barr as a libertarian.”
Barr’s supporters are actually attacking local GOP groups here in Florida. While I don’t like McCain either, this is not the moment to fracture the party; our own personal Robert Mugabe is waiting in the wings and eager to take over our country and turn it into Zimbabwe, and believe me, someday the Barr contingent is going to regret having helped him.
Really fine on the home front....not
Barr had acquiesced to his then-wife having an abortion in 1983.
He had also invoked a legal privilege during his 1985 divorce proceeding so he could refuse to answer questions on whether he’d cheated on his second wife with the woman who is now his third.”
At the 2008 Libertarian National Convention,Bob Barr apologized for the part of the Defense of Marriage Act which prevents the federal government from recognizing same-sex marriages ( Barr supports same sex marriage)
It's because McCain is such a weak candidate.
Bob Barr appeared before the terrorist, Borat Sagdiyev. He met with him in his office!!
LOL. There’s got to be a You Tube link somewhere.
Honestly, when will the right moment come to fracture the party? Neither major party supports true conservative values, fiscally or socially, and this is echoed by the presidential candidates. The time for change has come and gone. For those who were paying close attention, the time for change came 70 years ago, yet to this day we hope a national candidate will arise who can lead us back to the leadership / value goals of our Founders. Continuing to wait will not help...It is better to send a strong message to the national parties than to continue to accept the sub-standard leadership we are offered.
The only message going out this election would be a statement along the lines of - I just threw away my vote. Get a candidate and start promoting before the Dems and Repubs nominate theirs, not after the fact.
What a nutjob!
Barr may be an idiot and/or jerk, but who can possibly argue with the above quote?
Exactly right.
When is? The RINOs say that every election.
Conservatives are no longer the majority in this party..not even close. It’s a new world.
CaspersGh0sts, another smart ass for Obama
