The RINOs say that every election.

And therein lies the problem in just blindly voting for a Republican no matter how objectionable their views. The GOP is counting on us to ignore our principles and common sense no matter what kind of liberal they trot out for election.

Personally, I'm done voting for the lesser of two evils. From now on I vote for the candidate who most closely mirrors my views.

>>>>>For those who were paying close attention, the time for change came 70 years ago...

70 years ago during the Great Depression, limited government wasn't being advanced. Socialism, communism, totalitarianism and imperialism were being promoted throughout the world. FDR was pushing "The New Deal" for America --- bigger federal bureaucracy, welfare for the poor and SocSec for the elderly.

Liberalism took an even stronger hold on America through LBJ`s Great Society programs of the 1960`s. Today, liberalism is attempting to make a serious comeback.

Conservatism's glory days were during the Reagan Presidency of the 1980`s and later during the takeover of Congress by the GOP, through Newt Gingrich's revolutionary leadership in 1994. After taking control of power, the GOP lost their conservative direction and in 2006, lost control of Congress.

Many of those Republicans who followed Reagan and Gingrich, weren't real conservatives. They were followers. When it was time for tough decisions to be made by the GOP, many of the so-called class of 1994 showed their true colors. They ran from the conservative agenda, embracing moderatism and liberalism.

Then you should have begun working for your candidate long, long before things got to the nomination. The reason McCain won is that - well, like it or not, he got the most votes. This means you’ve got to work harder to sell your point of view to the party and get a better candidate - but BEFORE a crucial election, not during one.

Basically, all you’re doing is handing your vote to Barry Obama, and I’m not even counting on having another election here if he gets in. This guy is serious Marxist dictator material.

. I did.

Well sure. In part because the politicians have rigged the game and violated the constitution by giving out money.. now, everyone is looking to see who is going to give them the most.

Basically, all you’re doing is handing your vote to Barry Obama, and I’m not even counting on having another election here if he gets in. This guy is serious Marxist dictator material.

For what its worth, as a factual basis, that is not true, and it drives me nuts that everyone says it. Let's say 10 people have voted for Obama, and 15 people for McCain. You are one of the 15. If you change from McCain to Obama, it is a net change of two votes. One less for McCain, one more for Obama. It becomes 14-11. If you simply don't vote, or vote for a third party, it is one less for McCain, but not one more for Obama. You can argue all you want that doing so is a bad thing, but please don't say that it is the same as voting for Obama because logically and factually it is not.

All brought to you in no small part by The Bushes.

This guy needs to get a clue, there is no way he can win all he will do is drain votes from McCain. If there was a truly viable 3rd party candidate I would vote for him but there is none. If we don’t vote for McCain, as much as I dislike the guy, we will end up with Obama. McCain is crap but he is a better brand of crap than obama. McCain is mildly scocialist, Obama is a total Marxist bent on America’s total destruction so we can be turned into a communist state.

Jeez....here comes that “if you vote for a third party candidate you elect Obama, etc.....”

Whenever anyone says this....it means:

1. Their candidate sucks
2. Their candidate is a sure loser (note only losing candidates and their supporters spoout this “third party vote crap”)

If you are not voting third party this election...you are definitely voting liberal...and you are part of the problem

No, I dont support Barr (Libertarians are free-trade/wealth-redistribution freaks and tend to be pro-illegal/open borders), but I can assure you I will not be wasting my conservative vote on McCain

Of course, there will never be one precisely because of people like you who will vote for whatever turd the GOP puts up.

Wait this is Bob Barr, the now archaic former politician, who said that?!!

Who plans the itinerary for these ego trips? Jimmy Carter seems to be on one constantly.

Now that the two parties have finally selected their presidential candidates, it is time for a sober-- if not grim-- assessment of where we are.

Not since 1972 have we been presented with two such painfully inadequate candidates. When election day came that year, I could not bring myself to vote for either George McGovern or Richard Nixon. I stayed home.

This year, none of us has that luxury. While all sorts of gushing is going on in the media, and posturing is going on in politics, the biggest national sponsor of terrorism in the world-- Iran-- is moving step by step toward building a nuclear bomb.

The point when they get that bomb will be the point of no return. Iran's nuclear bomb will be the terrorists' nuclear bomb-- and they can make 9/11 look like child's play.

. . . we do not have the luxury of waiting for our ideal candidate or of indulging our emotions by voting for some third party candidate to show our displeasure-- at the cost of putting someone in the White House who is not up to the job.

Senator John McCain has been criticized in this column many times. But, when all is said and done . . . The choice between him and Barack Obama should be a no-brainer.

Barr took one for the Republicans on the Clinton impeachment. Now he feels betrayed. So, he is crying and trying to ruin McCain’s chances.

Word to Barr: grow up.

Barr is going to cost McCain Virginia and a couple of other swing states,

Fratricide. It was funny when Cindy Sheehan challenged Pelosi or Ralph Nader running as a Green. (Go Ralph) but this isn't funny.

I think Barr is going to cost McCain Virginia and a couple of other swing states, unfortunately.

Only if folks vote for him because they're pi$$ed at McCain, and want to punish the GOP. They'll end up punishing all of us, if their votes mean that Obama gains the White House.

our own personal Robert Mugabe is waiting in the wings and eager to take over our country and turn it into Zimbabwe, and believe me, someday the Barr contingent is going to regret having helped him.

The reason those particular white farmers lined up for the slaughter is that they were British. As such, they considered gun ownership a lower-class affectation. After all, if attacked by a criminal you're supposed to call the police.

Fortunately, this particular cultural affectation is not relevant to America.

[McCain is crap but he is a better brand of crap than obama.]

There's an endorsement. Every two years, the “R” Party rolls out stinkier bags of poo than in the previous election and says “Take it or leave it!” If you decide to hold your nose and vote for what's in front of you, for the reason that at least it's better crap than the alternative, then that just tells them that you will put up with an even stinkier bag of crap next time.

I can't possibly hold my nose tightly enough to put up with the stench of McCain in the White House and anyone who suggests that I'm only supporting Obama by not voting for McCain can bite me.

Amen! National Security, and appointments to the Supreme Court are the two issues that are most important to me in this election.

I vote for the Pro Life candidate who will appoint Conservative judges. The type of candidates that fight against the ACLU not join them. Barr lost all credibility by joining the Anti Christian Lawyers Union.

You have no idea what you’re talking about. Nor do you go to the movies very often.

Get out more. ;)
