Actually, the opposite is true. If McCain wins he will reform the GOP in his liberal image. You will see even fewer conservative Republican candidates and the GOP will be nothing more than democrat lite party. With Obama, the GOP is likely to coalesce against a common foe, Obama, and re-energize its base, electing conservatives in 2010.

What can’t we have 200,000 of you on this site? You are the only one who brilliantly put into words what everyone is thinking.

Oh, I’m pretty sure there are plenty of people here who are screaming at my post in outrage.

You analysis is true only if Obama doesn’t have the senate and the house behind him. Letting him in is a big mistake and people who do will rue the day. However, if McCain gets in there some of the damage will be mitigated, especially if the dems hold on to the legislature and we will still have the back lash against the republican party as it exists today. Therefore we then try to reform the republicans into the conservatives they should be or quit wasting time and throw our support behind the constitution party which has all liberal values for their party platform. If you have never read their platform do an internet search(I hate to say google)and read their platform, I am sure you will recognize their values as some of your own.

Well I hope you are right but I don’t think so. I wasn’t going to vote for McCain but the extreme radicalism by Obama has made me reconsider, that and the fact we do not control the house and senate. If Obama gets in there he will have the legislature, the MSM and the big money men such as Soros behind him. We might not live to see another election in this country if that happens.

Suppose it's 2009 and John McCain is president with a Democratic House and Senate. Congress will be passing bills on up to the White House which will expand entitlement programs and government spending, increase regulations on business, impose burdensome environmental restrictions on all Americans and relinquish portions of our decision making ability in foreign policy to international consensus. Considering that Senator McCain has based his entire political career on letting Big Journalism tell him what position to take on every issue, how many of these bills do you think President McCain will veto?

Assume I will not vote for McCain. Would you rather I voted 3rd party, or for Obama?

I would prefer that you join many others, including myself, and vote 3rd party. Because it tells the Powers That Be that you are out there, that you did not accept having their poor choice rammed down your throat, and had no intention of sitting at home. Come election day, they can read the results and weep, regardless of what they are.

I value my vote and will not throw it away or stay home. Bonus: I live in a (formerly Republican) swing state.
