Wesley Clark's attack was specifically designed to elicit a public meltdown by John McCain, which the Obama camp planned to pounce on as proof that McCain is a hothead and temperamentally unfit to be President. He didn't take the bait. So today we hear "calm down" from Jim Webb, though McCain gave no indication he needs to calm down about anything.
Dems are desperate to smear McCain. This is not about trashing his military service, it is about trying to goad him into a "Howard Dean moment." So far he has wisely refused to cooperate.
Some clueless woman just called Rush claiming that nobody cared about either Barry or McCain because people are suffering!
That is exactly what I believe why Clark was sent out to say what he did. The Obama folks thought they could set off the much-reported McCain temper.
I've got the feeling Obama is going to be the one who melts down long before the November election. He has not proven himself to stand up under any kind of pressure.
Yep. It comments on smears that McCain is nuts.
And meanwhile, I bet some of his side are afraid Obama would go ballistic if he was really confronted by a racist attack.
So they have been non-stop 24 hours a day complaining about “racist attacks”, in an attempt to make it so “onerous” that if it happens, it will be OK that Obama goes ballistic.
I find your analysis compelling.
