I don’t know why Americans are so reluctant to use atomic weapons. They are a part of our arsenal and should be used when feasible. Nuking Iranian WMD sites is the best solutiohn to a pesky problem for the US and Israel.
You are absolutely correct.
And you can also bet the rent that if the Japanese had been feverishly working to develop their own nuclear weapons capability in late 1944 / early 1945 that FDR (and later, Truman) would not have tried to let ‘negotiations’ run their course, or engage in other diplomatic niceties.
We would continue to bomb the living Hell out of every Japanese target we could find, and kill as many of the sumb!tches as possible.
Which is exactly what we should have been doing to Iran a LONG time ago.
