So you'd recommend a Class A over a Class B? The Class A RVs look kinda big...

Cute dog, BTW!

Here's our rig:

That looks nice. Did you ever consider a trailer for the car? I'm curious about the pros and cons for such.

SUV prices are really low right now. I just bought nice used one for 20% under blue book. It’s nice to have four wheel drive and space for stuff.

Economy cars were selling for a premium that blew the gas savings out of the water. There was a $750/year difference in gas costs and a $5k difference in price. I’m only planning on driving the SUV for 5 years, so the SUV should have a lower cost of ownership.

Class b is for traveling lite. Class a is just like home, but you take it with you. It is easy to drive them, and most people stay out of your way!

If only there was a way to make miniature nuclear-powered engines, for RVs, boats, tactor-trailers, trucks, busses, and limos.

Starship engines the size of walnuts, Captain!

We had a pop up which we towed with our Suburban (got about 12 MPG with that rig instead of the 8 we get with our motorhome). We enjoyed the pop up, but it took several hours to set up and break down camp so it wasn’t good for touring where you only stay in one spot for a day or two.

If we towed a decent sized travel trailer with our Suburban, we’d probably get about the same MPG as we do with the motorhome. Then once you get to your spot, you’d have to do your day trips with the Suburban at 15 MPG instead of the Outback at about 30 MPG.

Is that what you mean?

We wouldn’t tow a trailer behind our present rig (motorhome+car). We’re over 50’ long with the motorhome and car as it is. Getting in and out of gas stations can often be an adventure as turn around space is limited at times.
