Everyone is an expert, every expert has a different fix.

The Barnett Shale play in Texas,he Woodford Shale of Oklahoma, the Fayettville Shale play of Arkansas, and last, but biggest is the Bakken Shale Play of North Dakota

Outstanding developments!

I am in Wind, we make the 1.5MW wind turbine nacelles and 37m blades for GE.

Our 5 year contract with GE was just renegotiated to triple our production of nacelles and blades.

Wind is just a small part of the answer but if it keeps us from send 1 Billion dollars a day to people who hate us, well then good.

I disagree...wind is not a small part, but a huge part. Last week I flew over the north sea and saw about 100 oil tankers parked next to about 200 windmills.... Quite a dichotomy, but let me assure you, us in the oil indsustry are counting on wind power to take up the slack. Although we have supplies for a while, we have got to replace the oil production. In Israeli terms, Kol ha Kavod!

Mikey, forgive my ignorance, but what is a Nacelle?

Th nacelle is housing that surrounds the turbine and gearbox. It serves as platform for all the FAA requirements, as well as the thermocouples, anemometers, and wind direction.

Two months ago the U.S Department of Energy (DOE) released a report that examines the technical feasibility of harnessing wind power to provide up to 20 percent of the nation’s total electricity needs by 2030.  Below are a couple of graphs from a related document.  It appears to me that 10 years to get oil is a whole lot sooner than any viable alternate energy plans.

We're real good at poking holes in the Earth and extracting oil.  We've been doing it for 150 years, we know how to use oil, we know it works.  We haven't been doing alternate energy very long, we don't know yet how to make it work or even if it will work in the long run. (Except nuclear)
