White and black liberal democrats say if you don't fit their angry urbanite, Ebonics speaking, who's the daddy TV talk show viewing, welfare recipient with a criminal record stereotype, you are not authentically black. Looking down their intellectual and self-righteous noses of superiority they proclaim to minorities, you poor inferior victims of American oppression, we sympathize and feel your pain. They're offended by individuals who escape or bypass their ghetto experience box and go on to achieve great success. How arrogant. How racist.
Imagine MLK brought back to life and told, Dr King, blacks who are educated, sophisticated, articulate and harbor no resentment against America are called Uncle Toms, traitors and inauthentic. Dr King would think himself in an episode of the Twilight Zone.
Thanks to the heroic efforts of civil rights pioneers such as MLK, blacks are thriving in all areas of American business, society and influence. Unfortunately, benefactors of the civil rights movement are persecuted by liberals who claim to have their best interest at heart.
For libs who think I'm not authentically black, I'll spout a little hood lingo, Yo, peace out.
Lloyd Marcus
Lloyd Marcus, you are not a black man, not by the standards set by liberals. To be truly black you must adhere to liberalism. It doesn’t have a lot to do with the color of your skin but with the color of your politics.
Are you certified black enough to criticize Obama?
good luck lloyd, I don’t understand much from the left these days either...
Indeed. The more faithful to a style, system or culture, the less “authentic” one is.
If you love sushi and prefer country music over rap, you’re just not black enough.
Um...why are we discussing “blackness” on FR?
Obama’s Black America:The New Nazis?
Dr King, blacks who are educated, sophisticated, articulate and harbor no resentment against America are called Uncle Toms, traitors and inauthentic.

Sadly, our country is still plagued by two forces that perpetuate the “black victimization” in America. The first are the individuals and organizations that preach nothing but hate, victimization and other self-serving dogma. The second are the black people in America that still would rather subscribe to this plethora of racism and victimization hate cultism, than become stand-up, educated Americans, independent of skin color.
Until professional racism is finally buried in America, I am afraid this tragedy of ignorance and “convenient hate” will continue. It is why I find myself yelling at the TV set when I see an image of Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Louis Farrachan (sp?) or the more recent Reverend Wright.
It is really up to black America to rise above professional racism and become stand-up Americans, free of ignorance, independent and self-sufficient as all Americans have the right to be, and should be.
Exactly.. divide and conquer.. Welfare and other kinds of PimPs are cutting out of the flock various folds of black sheep and shearing them.. And there are wolves too.. black and white wolves..
Lloyd, I’m still trying to find out from others on this site if I am “authentically” white. Any ideas? ;-)
Any American who is black and conservative is a brave person in this day and age.
Now, country music?
This'd be Bill Pickett. I don't think he'd take kindly to rap. Or glorification of thugs. But he was kind of long on human decency.
I don't know about the black thing, buy we're going to have to clip a corner off your man card for eating sushi.
Poor rural whites who speak substandard English, watch Jerry Springer, receive welfare, and have criminal records aren't considered "authentic" by liberals.
The leftist part of the Black community decides who is authentically black.
I have never wondered in my life whether I was “authentically white”, and I’m not going to start now. The whole notion of racial authenticity is ridiculous. People are who they are, and everyone is a little different.
According to the definition of racism in my dictionary, I don't see it. Perhaps the statement is offensive, definitely ignorant, but I don't see any racism.
