I'm still waiting to see who he chooses as a running mate. If it's Goober Graham or Hucklesberry, McCain will have lost my vote as I won't vote for two nincompoops.

McCain will probably select a running mate to his left. I do not believe he will select a running mate to his right as he would likely belive such an individual to “wear his [or her] conservatism on his sleeve.”
BTW, if you are not familiar with the quote, it is what McCain said concerning Alito.
He never had it to begin with.
