I guess we will now be told by some here on FR that the Ramseys hired some one to kill here.

It is sad that the mother had to go to her grave with this suspicion over her. It is sad that John Ramsey has been looked upon as a potential killer of his own child. It is sad that they have no idea on the suspect. Even sadder the prosecution bungled this case like they did from the beginning!

It is sad the family had to go through that, not only the death of their daughter but the years of public scrutiny. It would be remarkable if they could still get the guy, but they will have to do it with 1/1000th of the evidence of the OJ case.

"Forensic scientists scrape a surface where there is no observable stain or other indication of possible DNA in an effort to recover for analysis any genetic material that might nonetheless be present. OK this is new to me.
It would be interesting to know what they scraped and how they would know that the DNA found by this method would be the DNA of the perp.

What about that ransom note, folks?

"I wish we could have done so before Mrs. Ramsey died." Perhaps if competence had played a role in the investigation they could have done a more thorough job.

Colorado has got to have the biggest law enforcement screwups in the country. They make Reno911 seem like a documentary. I can see why South Park is set there.

I agree on all counts. They always want to pin it on the parents, usually the Dad—and perhaps with good reason. But I always think of the little girl in FL who was murdered, Jessica and that her Dad was the first suspect. What a horrible thing to go thru when you’re already enduring the nightmare of losing your child.

I’m with you. One other question about this type of new DNA analysis, has this house been sold and other people living there? If so, then maybe the new evidence is from one of them.

They scraped the leggings the child was wearing. I still don’t see how this clears the Ramsey’s. I mean someone who washed the clothes for the family may have got some skin cells on the clothes, but it doesn’t make him the killer. Also, the DA in the case is very close to the Ramsey’s attorney. I think this case is still being mishandled!

The Ramseys were one of the few Republican families in town. The crooked city government and DA's office presented the worst policework, the worst investigation, the worst prosecution (based upon feelings not data or evidence), and the most evil PR campaigns against this poor family. This is today's Democratic party when given full power, people. I kid you not, this is pure leftism in action.

The tested sample, as the article states, comes from the clothing that JonBenet Ramsey was wearing at the time of her death.

The odds are that at some point in the future, the killer will be in police custody and his DNA will match what they found. Few people commit such a crime just once in their lives.
Only question I have is did anyone like a laundry operator touch the child’s clothing? Maid? Someone who wasn’t the killer.

FWIW, I just don't see how this clears the family. It implicates another person, but it doesn't necessarily exonerate any of the Ramseys.
