When he reaches out I hope he will grab a VP who is strong pro-life both before and after being born.
I was at this daily mass last week and this woman prayed that we be given widom to know who to vote for for President — can you imagine!!!
When family, friends, or fellow Catholics espouse Democratic leanings I want to yell at them, stomp away, slam a door, and go eat and watch TV.
You can tell what the “elites” think about you by watching the marketing campaigns that depict every white male as a useless blithering idiot.
The big surprise this fall is that the “useless blithering idiots” will decide the election, outreach or not.
Yes, but I live in Maryland. So it doesn't matter who I vote for, we all know to whom the electoral votes are going.
That gives me a lot of leeway as to exactly how I will vote. As it won't matter. I know it WON'T be for Barry. It doesn't look like it will be for McLame. But for whom...maybe a write-in vote...
I know...
Whan a group of us sat down and talked with our parish priest about the election, our priest made it quite clear that given the record of McCain and Obama on the life issue. The choice is quite clear who NOT to vote for.
One of my favorite parts of the Gospel is Matthew 22 verses 17-21:
Tell us, then, what is your opinion: Is it lawful to pay the census tax to Caesar or not?” Knowing their malice, Jesus said, “Why are you testing me, you hypocrites? Show me the coin that pays the census tax.” Then they handed him the Roman coin. He said to them, “Whose image is this and whose inscription?” They replied, “Caesar’s.” At that he said to them, “Then repay to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God.”
My job as a Catholic is not necessarily to act as a cheerleader for a political party and/or it’s candidates. The only Catholic “political duty” I can see is to *not* support a political candidate whose stated aims are grossly contrary to the faith.
Same here. LOL
“I was at this daily mass last week and this woman prayed that we be given widom to know who to vote for for President can you imagine!!!”
Actually, I can. Electoral politics has become a golden calf for too many Christians.
**The Catholic vote almost always goes for the winner. There are signs that McCain is doing better with Catholics than Obama, with room to grow.**
You pegged it.
If you don’t vote for McCain you are guaranteeing that Obambamaniac will be the next presidient.
Common sense needs to prevail. (And we don’t mean Obama!)
Bravo! As Fr. Frank Pavone has repeatedly noted, in an election such as this, the primary determination must be to vote for the candidate who supports life for without life, there is no hope.

Obama's Voting Record
Voted NO on defining unborn child as eligible for SCHIP. (Mar 2008)
Voted NO on prohibiting minors crossing state lines for abortion. (Mar 2008)
Voted YES on expanding research to more embryonic stem cell lines. (Apr 2007)
Voted NO on notifying parents of minors who get out-of-state abortions. (Jul 2006)
Voted YES on $100M to reduce teen pregnancy by education & contraceptives. (Mar 2005)
That's what we need to see! vs Obama who is rated 100% by NARAL for his pro-death voting record.
Your right, but what got my goat is the idea that any serious Catholic could be in doubt about whether to vote for Obama.
“Bravo! As Fr. Frank Pavone has repeatedly noted, in an election such as this, the primary determination must be to vote for the candidate who supports life for without life, there is no hope.”
Well, I see it in more of the negative sense: I should not vote for a candidate who opposes life. And I will not do so. Otherwise, I don’t see a faith based duty to vote at all. Civic duty, perhaps, but not a faith based duty.
It is highly debatable as to whether Sen. McCain represents a pro-life voice of any consequence. He may espouse pro-life views with a wink and a nudge, but I don’t see anything changing should he be elected. He’s a typical GOP politician in that respect.
