Six Killed And One Critically Wounded In 24-Hour Period (England, "Knife" Crimes)

London, England (AHN) -- Even though British police announced a crackdown on knife-crime last week, six people have been killed and one critically wounded in a 24-hour period.

Reports say all of the stabbings were in separate incidents. Four of the killed were Londoners, one attack happened in West Bromwich, and the other in Manchester. One of the London victims is still fighting for his life in the hospital.

All were male, but their ages varied. Four of the men stabbed were 20, one was 41, one 19, and one's age was not disclosed, but he was described by the Daily Mail as a "young man."

In some of the cases the stabbings were reportedly unprovoked, such as the "young man" who stepped out of his girlfriend's flat to pick up some food.

Three arrests have been made in relations to the most recent stabbings.

Last week British authorities announced that knife-crime has surpassed terrorism as the number one threat to public safety in the United Kingdom, and especially in England, after the death told from knife injuries reached 18. Over the course of this week it has increased, and as of Thursday, 20 teens have been killed in London from stab wounds.

Scotland Yard Assistant Commissioner Tim Godwin told the Daily Mail that while it is understandable to feel that there is an epidemic, in reality, only one out of 50 people carry knives. In a recent search of 32,000 people during the knife crackdown, 730 knives were confiscated. Godwin said that of those that carry knives, only two out of 100 need to be "sorted out."

British authorities have vowed to be diligent in finding the root of this problem and to continue to strengthen their knife-crime task force teams.

If the knives are outlawed, I hope folks are smart enough to avoid BIC pen and nail stocks. You can use a chopstick to kill a person if you want to. Where does it end, the disarming of law abiding citizens so those who don’t abide by the law can attack them at will?

We have always found ways to wield a means of defense (or offense); it doesn't matter whether it's a nuclear warhead or a sharpened stick. Even if they outlaw knives and everything else, the bad guys still have an advantage. You can get killed by a knife, and you can also get killed by being stomped and beaten to death by a gang of 10 thugs with nothing but their hands and feet

The solution is in three parts:

1. Eliminate the welfare state -- let they yobs find jobs any which way they can;
2. arm the middle class -- anybody 21 or older with no violent criminal record should be able to carry a gun to defend themselves
3. Do not penalize self-defense by the law abiding. Enact "Make my Day" laws disallowing penalties for defending ones self from violent crime

Some years back, during the last soccer world cup, a crowd of some thirty soccer hooligans came running through the old Bangkok airport, trying to catch a plane to Korea. On their way they knocked several people down, apparently for fun. They were not allowed on their plane as they were blocked from the world cup. I heard that there were some fights and saw a load of police heading toward where they had gone. For the next week, you kept reading in the papers about trouble they created in Patpong, Pattaya and elsewhere.

Anyhow, from the looks of them (mostly shaved heads, tattoos, busted faces, dirty tank top undershirts, team colors,etc), one would want a shotgun and two pistols just to walk by. They looked worse and more violent than the meth hillbillies here in Oregon. I can imagine when this group meets the Islamists.

I don’t see Britain being saved now short of civil war. There are too many people dependent on the current system ever to change or reform it. The entire social and political system will have to be destroyed through violence.

The U.S. is not far behind. And there’s no guarantee that the good guys will win.

There is a reason for the name Hillbillies here in Oregon. Most of them are former hippies or their children who moved to Oregon from California to grow pot. Now, they make meth and raise pit bulls. They hide out in the hills of Western Oregon in fortified shacks. They can be recognized by their hair, their tattoos, their facial sores, their smell and their dogs snarling in the back of their trucks. They are meth Hillbillies and not to be confused with the real thing, Hell, they can't make music and wouldn't recognize Roy Acuff or Carl Perkins from Dorothy Shay.
