The law of supply and demand is key to Capitalism which the rats hate. They want Marxian Socialism and are willing to take it incrementally.

Leftists are interested in providing "fixes" for the consequences suffered by many as a direct result of the inability to deal with freedom. A prime example of this was Schwarzeneggar's sorry comments this morning on Face the Nation. Playing to the nickel seats as usual, Arnie applauded efforts to ease the pain of Kahleeforneeah's homeowners by increasing the size and availability of mortgages etc.. As a very successful businessman, he knows that overextending one's debts can be and often is the kiss of financial death.

But what the hell, when someone is probably toying with an eventual run for the Senate, why not tell the folks who have been unable to manage the freedom to run their own financial affairs what they want to hear? What does it matter if they are given more credit rope with which to hang themselves? It's all part of a vicious circle that the Lefties (of both parties) use to gain power.

Rats and Rinos know that freedom will always lead many unprepossessing citizens into deep waters. The trick is to simply make it appear that the gradual removal of more and more liberty is good for everybody. A tremendous irony is in play. Freedom inherently includes the right to fail; failures are then leveraged into reasons to enact more government controls. This is a shell game that the Collectivists have honed to perfection.
