I disagree...if he doesn’t do this then they’ll jump on him for ignoring and making no effort for the black vote...and who knows- maybe there’s a percentage who feel the way jesse jack feels.....not that this will sway them but don’t leave any rock unturned...

Yeah, he’s fostering the maverick image, but I don’t think it’s the black vote he’s trying to get.

There is no downside to an appearance in the camp of the opponent. Independents and undecideds may well perceive his appearance at NAACP positively even though they themselves have nothing to gain in the process. If George Bush had attended and purveyed his "compassionate conservatism" in 2000 the world of politics might be very different today.

I see no virtue whatsoever in telling a large voting bloc, "F- you, I'll win without you.
