Glad you found it!
Yep...get it all on record if you’re going to be there.
In my humble opinion, a funeral is not an occasion for a “freep.” Please, everyone, calm down. Say a prayer that Tony’s funeral and everything surrounding it will be appropriately honorable. Trust in the Lord, and mourn this man with dignity.
Of course it is. The devil is alive and kickin'. We must fight continuously. Never give in.
You know what guysif they were ignored altogether there wouldn’t be a story.
Let’s let Tony’s family deal with it. If they need help from the law I’m sure they will get it. Let’s not give the bastards what they want.
Found this: So let those idiots from Westboro show up at the wrong church....
WASHINGTON - President Bush will attend the funeral Thursday for Tony Snow, his former press secretary, at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
Snow died of colon cancer Saturday at age 53. He is survived by his wife, Jill, and their three children.
Snow was the White House press secretary from May 2006 until last September. He long was a member of Washington’s power circles, and a familiar face across the country, as a conservative commentator and an interviewer on TV and radio for Fox News
I recall one of tonys last posts here at FR. It was in regard to grieving and death.
"One consoles as one can; with love and steadfastness. The purpose of consolation is not to proclaim judgment; thats someone elses job. In times of grief, one gives ones heart to another, in ways that will provide solace rather than pain to embrace, them, help them and support them. Paul notes that one needs to be all things to all people in practicing ones faith. And in times of grief, one must be a selfless friend."
We console as we can, not in judging those people, God will take care of that.
We do however open our hearts to those we love and loved, and try to stop them from suffering additional pain.
That mean the Knights of Columbus should be alerted. Anyone have any contacts with them???
Thank you kind sir.
Thanks for the reply folks. I apprecicate your insights on these idiots.
My reference to Soros was meant to address his contempt for religion. I can’t think of many better ways to damage religion in general than to have folks like this or parts of the the FLDS crowd to surface from time to time.
I don’t know their entire history. I probably should look into it more than I have. Sometimes I have a hard time working up the energy to look into the background of wingnuts, but we do need to be informed.
Take care.
I wonder if Fox will televise it.
Never mind, I just read on foxnews.com that it will be private.
I sure hope so peggybac! I’ve been avoiding all the coverage (my mom is taping it for me) because I’m having a harder time about this than I thought I would, but I won’t let myself miss that.
It’s a pretty church (at Catholic U, where Tony gave the commencement last year). The caretaker let me play the huge pipe organ there once!
Darn! We just cross-posted & I saw yours about it being private so never mind about mine too. ;-(
copy that.
If they are it would have to be long-time sleepers. They've been protesting against gays since the mid 90s at least, but didn't get really nationally famous until they started protesting soldier funerals and funerals of famous people like Mr. Rogers. Yes, they protested Mr. Rogers. Yes, they're insane.
If you want another conspiracy theory, the group makes its money by staging protests, which spurs people to try to stop the protests, and then suing for infringement of 1st Amendment rights. They've made millions off of that, so it could just be a money-making scam.
Don’t believe any evidence of political affiliation or friendship. Phelps will lash out at whoever gives him the most publicity. He’s more of an attention whore than Paris Hilton.
Christ Church in Alexandria was Tony’s church a few years ago. I used to attend that church too and our daughters were in Sunday School together. When we moved away in 2004 the Snows were still attending there. I don’t know when he became a practicing Catholic, but I was not aware of it until I heard Bill O’Reilly mention it on Fox News Saturday.
Tamp down the self-righteousness.
