Special rules for Obama?
American Thinker ^ | 07/15/08 | Thomas Lifson

Posted on 07/15/2008 6:40:23 AM PDT by coffee260

Sooner or later, voters are going to recognize the exquisite sensitivity of thObama-protested covere Obama campaign to ridicule as weakness. By choosing to cry foul  over the New Yorker cover depicting the Obamas as the opposition supposedly sees him, the campaign reveals the precariousness of the substance-free image-building effort to date.

The irrepressible Doug Ross  dug up a New Yorker cover mocking Bush and Cheney as the gay cowboys from Brokeback Mountain, sarcastically noting the missing firestorm of protest.

Brokeback White HouseAre Americans really going to want to vote for someone who holds himself to be above criticism and mockery?

Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me!

We know W is not a homosexual cowboy. Not even funny. No response or publicity.

The words and pictures hurt B. Hussein Obama for two reasons:
1. They are true
2. They expose his lies

What was it that Phil Gramm said about whiners?

Everything goes double for the Obamas, the Marxist and the docile Muslim suicide bomber being sent out into the marketplace.

Herself, still the Cold and Joyless, stands a chance of overturning this nomination process even yet.

George Soros is just hedging his bets.

O’Bambi is standing in the headlights, while the driver of the vehicle stands behind the opened door, and sights in with the deer rifle.

What an excellent trophy to hang on the wall of that secret club in Manhattan.

That is because the Bush administration respects the God-given right of free speech, even if it speech that is offensive or critical to the administration. Obama, on the other hand, does not respect free speech. His campaign's criticism of the cover of the New Yorker, as well as his followers' attacking other media outlets who criticize the Messiah himself, is proof positive that as President, Obama will actively prohibit any speech that he finds objectionable.

Republicans didn’t get particularly upset over things like the Cheny/Bush cover because they were so obviosly false. The Obama cover, however, is unintentionaly true; thus the Obama people have to do everything they can to attack it.

Jeff,

Because you know how to post pictures on FR, there is an image of a rejected New Yorker front cover that’s posted on PowerLine that would look good on FR. Thanks.

An Idea: Let’s make this thread a bulletin board for the most offensive cartoons and covers against Republicans we have ever seen. Certainly the repulsive ones targeting Condi Rice hld special significance.

They’re firmly in Obama’s camp. The New Yorker was mocking conservative criticism of the Obamas. Obama’s political consultants believe the American public is stupid.

How about the cover of the “Nation” that showed Clarence Thomas as a lawn jockey.
