Contra Expectations

On his first day in office, President Barack Obama will head to the situation room for a video conference with his most important commander, General David Petraeus. If the conversation is chilly, it is not just the awkwardness of virtual chatting. Obama and Petraeus have a history. While Obama has called for withdrawing U.S. forces from Iraq, Petraeus oversaw the deployment of more than 30,000 additional troops. To win support from the left, Obama postured as a skeptic of the general's Iraq strategy during congressional hearings. Meanwhile, Petraeus has emerged as something of a hero to the right--and, despite his protestations, might someday run for president as a Republican.

While the author may trust obama, I do not. His background suggests Nevil Chamberlin blood.

That was ... really gay.

Thanks for posting - always good to know what pretzels the left will knot itself into to prove black is white and up is down.

Only to "the right"?! How revealing, if anything... And they call Obama "Reagan"? All that the left needs is a good psychiatrist.

The only thing harder for a military person than saluting that wimpy sack O’s**t Clinton would be saluting Obama. Since the salute is a sign of respect, I would not do it. Ever. Period.

A hero to the right? The writer of this article betrays his utter cluelessness in that one phrase.

By what standard, other than the extreme anti-Americanism of Obama supporters, is Petraeus not a hero to the whole American nation? (Or the whole goddamned American nation, as Michelle Obama would evidently have it.)

Unbelievable. Unbelievable how leftists can completely ignore the utter hypocrisy of this dangerous, empty suit, skip over his serial, Clintonesque lying and pretend that his almost daily display of breathtaking ignorance will pose no threat to the well-being of the american public. Yet again absolute proof of the two prerequisites for the title of leftist...utter hypocrisy and thorough shamelessness.

So we should be comfortable voting for Obama because he will have Richard Clarke and Rand Beers on board and they know how to be realistic and tough with the bad guys.

Richard Clarke’s work on getting bin Ladin should certainly give us all lots of comfort.

So, what he’s saying is honor, sticking by our word, freeing the oppressed and keeping America safe are only traits coveted by the right. I’ll buy that.

Someone should question whether or not he still uses drugs?
