Christian Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Ghost) Offensive to Muslims: Archbishop of Canterbury
Web India 123 ^ | 07.16.2008 | ANI

Posted on 07/16/2008 4:23:33 AM PDT by Coffee200am

The Archbishop of Cantebury, Dr. Rowan Williams, has described key elements of the Christian Trinity doctrine as being offensive to Muslims.

The Trinity is the Christian doctrine stating God exists as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and conflicts with Islamic teaching that there is one all-powerful God.

In a letter to Islamic scholars, Dr. Williams also spoke critically of the violent past of both Christianity and Islam, and of Christianity's abandonment of its peaceful origins.

Keen to promote closer dialogue and understanding between the two faiths, Dr. Williams letter covers difficult issues, including religious freedom and religiously inspired violence, and according to The Telegraph, it is in response to a document written last year by Muslim scholars from 43 countries. That letter was described by the archbishop as polite and well meaning.

Discussing differences between the religions, Dr. Williams acknowledges that Christian belief in the Trinity is "difficult, sometimes offensive, to Muslims".

Speaking about the history of the two religions, Dr Williams said they had been too often confused with Empire and control.

"There is no religious tradition whose history is exempt from such temptation and such failure. What we need as a vision for our dialogue is to break the current cycles of violence, to show the world that faith and faith alone can truly ground a commitment to peace which definitively abandons the tempting but lethal cycle of retaliation in which we simply imitate each other's violence," he said.

The 17-page letter, called A Common Word for the Common Good, is in response to a letter from Muslim leaders written last September.

That letter, A Common Word Between Us and You, was signed by 138 Muslim scholars to declare the common ground between the two religions. (ANI)

I could care less as to what is "offensive" to Muslims. Seems everything is.

Nothing surprises me when it comes to England’s appeasement tactics.

Not only have they given over their nation to the Muslims, now they have ceded their national religion.

They’ve lost all sense of self in their desire to please.

Mohammad’s god is not the God of Christianity.

It doesn't take much of the Koran to know the difference.

Rowan Williams isn't just a fool, he's evil.

The Archbishop has had a little too much wine if he thinks the Muslims are going to delete the verses in the Koran that command believers to kill all infidels and Jews. His efforts are futile as has every civilized group that tried to reason with the followers of Islam. Offended? Good!

My new goal in life is to open a topless bar next to a mosque. It would be called the dog house. Anyone that brings a dog in gets the second drink free. The entire motif would be dog related.

On the other (up wind) side I would open up a bar-b-que pit that specialized in ..... you guessed it, pork.

Enough is enough

The following is adapted from Dr. Peter Hammond’s book: Slavery, Terrorism and Islam: The Historical Roots and Contemporary Threat:

Islam is not a religion nor is it a cult. It is a complete system. Islam has religious, legal, political, economic and military components. The religious component is a beard for all the other components. Islamization occurs when there are sufficient Muslims in a country to agitate for their so-called ‘religious rights'.

When politically correct and culturally diverse societies agree to ‘the reasonable’ Muslim demands for their ‘religious rights,’ they also get the other components under the table. Here’s how it works (percentages source CIA: The World Fact Book (2007)).

As long as the Muslim population remains around 1% of any given country they will be regarded as a peace-loving minority and not as a threat to anyone. In fact, they may be featured in articles and films, stereotyped for their colorful uniqueness:

Nation % Muslim
United States 1.0%
Australia 1.5%
Italy 1.5%
Norway 1.8%
Canada 1.9%
China 2.0%

At 2% and 3% they begin to proselytize from other ethnic minorities and disaffected groups with major recruiting from the jails and among street gangs:

Nation % Muslim
Denmark 2.0%
United Kingdom 2.7%
Germany 3.7%
Spain 4.0%
Thailand 4.6%

From 5% on they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population. They will push for the introduction of halal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby securing food preparation jobs for Muslims. They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature it on their shelves — along with threats for failure to comply. (United States).

Nation % Muslim
Switzerland 4.3%
Philippines 5.0%
Sweden 5.0%
The Netherlands 5.5%
Trinida and Tabago 5.8%
France 8.0%

At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves under Sharia, the Islamic Law. The ultimate goal of Islam is not to convert the world but to establish Sharia law over the entire world. When Muslims reach 10% of the population, they will increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions (Paris –car-burnings). Any non-Muslim action that offends Islam will result in uprisings and threats (Amsterdam - Mohammed cartoons).

Nation % Muslim
Guyana 10.0%
India 13.4%
Israel 16.0%
Kenya 10.0%
Russia 15.0%

After reaching 20% expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings and church and synagogue burning:

Nation % Muslim
Ethiopia 32.8%

At 40% you will find widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks and ongoing militia warfare:

Nation % Muslim
Bosnia 40.0%
Chad 50.1%
Lebanon 59.7%

From 60% you may expect unfettered persecution of non-believers and other religions, sporadic ethnic cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia Law as a weapon and Jizya, the tax placed on infidels:

Nation % Muslim
Albania 70.0%
Malaysia 60.4%
Qatar 77.5%
Sudan 70.0%

After 80% expect State run ethnic cleansing and genocide:

Nation % Muslim
Bangladesh 83.0%
Egypt 90.0%
Gaza 98.7%
Indonesia 86.1%
Iran 98.0%
Iraq 97.0%
Jordan 92.0%
Morocco 98.7%
Pakistan 97.0%
Syria 90.0%
Tajikistan 90.0%
Turkey 99.8%
United Arab Emirates 96.0%

100% will usher in the peace of ‘Dar-es-Salaam’ — the Islamic House of Peace — there’s supposed to be peace because everybody is a Muslim:

Nation % Muslim
Yemen 99.9%
Afghanistan 100.0%
Saudi Arabia 100.0%
Somalia 100.0%

Of course, that’s not the case. To satisfy their blood lust, Muslims then start killing each other for a variety of reasons.

"Before I was nine I had learned the basic canon of Arab life. It was me against my brother; me and my brother against our father; my family against my cousins and the clan; the clan against the tribe; and the tribe against the world and all of us against the infidel."

– Leon Uris, ‘The Haj’.

It is good to remember that in many, many countries, such as France, the Muslim populations are centered around ghettos based on their ethnicity. Muslims do not integrate into the community at large. Therefore, they exercise more power than their national average would indicate.

Interesting post. Equally interesting to me is that, if you take away the OPEC nations from the list, there's a strong inverse correlation between Muslim density and economic prosperity. I guess you shouldn't expect otherwise from a cult religion that wants to live in the Stone Age.

Dr. Williams acknowledges that Christian belief in the Trinity is "difficult, sometimes offensive, to Muslims".

I've seen other quotes by this guy and he seems to be Mr. PC for Great Britain. If I lived in GB, I wouldn't give a rat's a$$ what Muslims think because they sure as hell don't care what you think. Also, to devote an entire book (The Book of Swords) in your holy manuscript detailing your responsibility to kill or subjugate the "infidel", if I were a clergy member, I'd be working against that cult, rather than kowtowing to it.

I have yet to discover what isn’t “offensive to Muslims” . . . . . . . . . well, other than oppression, fear, murder, slavery, torture and rape.

As far as I am concerned, we can just keep on offending them because I refuse to cave to their tactics and appease these dangerous, murdering, thugs just so they won’t get mad at me.

I want’em mad. I also will not alter or change my life, religion or lifestyle to keep from offending them. Their existence on this planet is offensive to me!!

The Islamic world has declared war on every other form of religion in the world. They essentially destroyed the Zoroastrian religion in ancient Persia, so that only a ragged remnant remains in existence today in India. Zoroastrianism was the revealed religion that spawned the tale of the three Wise Men, or Magi, priests of the Zoroastrians, who read the signs and came bearing gifts to the child Jesus of Nazareth. Before there was a Christ, they believed.

Zoroastrians were Medes and various other non-Jewish tribes and ethnicities in the Middle East, who adopted and subscribed to a monothestic religion of a supreme being of goodness, Ahura Mazda, and his army of angels, who battled Ahriman and his horde of the Fallen, concepts that are surprisingly similar to those held by Christian theologists (or at least ones who take their vocation seriously).

There is reason to believe that Mohammed Ali was a student of the Zoroastrian religion, and was well acquainted with its concepts and tenets. Apparently, in middle age, he was overtaken by a peculiar madness and religiosity (sometimes seen in schizophrenic psychiatric patients) in which he began to see new meanings and “signs” in the existing texts, and decided that he was hearing the “voice of God”.

Only, to distinguish HIS version of “God”, he designated the Supreme Being as “Allah”, and went on the warpath to destroy all vestiges of the religion he had known from childhood. By extensively re-writing and re-interpreting the existing religious texts, and summarily destroying all those with which there were unresolved differences, a warped form of a monotheistic cult emerged. The text of the Koran, and the various hadiths which are based upon thae Koran, are the only religious texts still accepted by the Muslims. There is no room for compromise with any other religion.

Now everybody in the room is aware of how a cult like the Branch Davidians, of recent notoriety in Texas, or of the various Sangria and Voodoo cults of the Caribbean islands are looked upon by more traditional Christians. Yet those religions were more or less loosely based on Christianity. The same relation bears between Zoroastrianism and Islam.

The spread of Islam was at the point of a sword, and a choice given to those who yielded in combat: 1) accept Allah and Islam as your God and way of life, 2) submit to servitude (dhimmi) under the Noble Islamic Gentlemen Given Great Exceptional Respect, or 3) be summarily executed on the spot, preferably by decapitation, as it was then easier to mount the heads on pikes and further intimidate future conquests.

Bearded men with burning eyes. Now referring to the Zoraastrian religion, did Mohammed select Ahura Mazda or Ahriman as his model for Allah? One suspects the latter, as was predicted in the Book of Revelations and the writings of Nostradamus.

Barack Hussein Obama, Jr., the charismatic, messianic Magic Negro, scares the billy out of me. His “audacity”, and “impertinence”, together with vague information concerning his early childhood, generate a great feeling of forboding.

Jessie Jackson would be a better choice for Democrat Presidential candidate. Not much, but a little better.

I think honest Jews, Christians and Muslims can agree the Karan is a haphazard effort to take the Jewish and Christian traditions and make them Islamic traditions with the intent of conversion. Further, MUSLIMS NEED TO GET OVER IT ALREADY.

Abraham ‘was not a Jew nor a Christian, but he was a monotheist, a Muslim’ (Âl ‘Imran 3:66)

CAN’T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG: Abraham was a jew. Jesus was a Christian. Mohammad was a tyrant and propagandist that beheaded people and collected goats.

“When Muhammad linked the name of Allah to the religious histories of Judaism and Christianity, this was a way to claim them for Islam. In the light of later events, the claim that Islam was the original religion, and that all preceding prophets were Muslims, can be regarded as an attempt to appropriate the histories of other religions for Islam. The effect is to rob Christianity and Judaism of their own histories.”

“Consider that many Biblical sites, such as the tombs of the Hebrew Patriarchs and the Temple Mount, are claimed by Islam as Muslim sites, not Jewish or Christian ones. After all, the Qur’an tells us that Abraham ‘was a Muslim’. Under Islamic rule all Jews and Christians were banned from such sites.”

In truth even that is an error because Islam was only around from the 600’s and not before. Even Abraham cannot even be called a Muslim because his faith in God and not in a religion.
