Okay, will someone explain to me the “Ted Baxter” comment?
I admit I’m not familiar with “Ted Baxter”
What did Limbaugh mean by the comment?
Kellynia go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Baxter
That should give you a good idea of what Rush meant.
Baxter was the airhead pompous news anchor on the Mary Tyler Moore show,,a truely dumb stuffed shirt.
Google Ted Baxter, but it’s from the Mary Tyler Moore show that was on in the 70s. Gosh I feel middle aged.
The MTM Show was about Mary and her adventures as an associate producer of the news in a local network show, and Ted Baxter, the anchor, was a narcissistic, bumbling, well-dressed, prideful half-wit know-it-all who thought the whole network revolved around him, and there was not much in the suit when it came right down to it. The MTM show wouldn’t have been a hit if it weren’t for Ted. (Ted B. was played by the actor Ted Knight - who gave a fantastic performance as the stuck-up Judge in Caddy Shack)
You’re kidding!
>>>I admit Im not familiar with Ted Baxter
Born pre Mary Tyler Moore Show?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Baxter — btw, that article already includes the Rush quote...
“It all started at a 5000 watt radio station in Fresno, California....”
For crying out loud, Kelly...you're on the Internet. Everything you could possibly want to know is a search engine away.
Baxter was a poser.
Very concerned with his appearance and his deep “anchor man” voice.
Baxter was not very smart.
One of the great TV characters of all time. This is a nice tribute to the late Ted Knight, who played the role on Mary Tyler Moore. Funny stuff.
A little song. A little dance. A little seltzer down your pants.
