Iran does not have millions of starving people like N Korea, Iran seriously wants to rule the Middle East, they will sit and negotiate, get close and snuggly but in the end all they want is to go down in history as the Islamic country that killed the Zionists and defeated the great Satan, the US of A.

Agree. When people state that we are not as safe as before we went to Iraq, they are blind to the facts.

Excerpts from the AP article:

“William Burns, America’s third highest-ranking diplomat, will attend talks with the Iranian envoy, Saeed Jalili, in Switzerland on Saturday aimed at persuading Iran to halt activities that could lead to the development of atomic weapons, a senior U.S. official told the AP on Tuesday.

...... Burns would not meet Jalili separately and would not negotiate with him.

“This is a one-time event and he will be there to listen, not negotiate,” the official said.

The gathering in Geneva will be led by European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana, who is seeking a definitive answer from the Iranians to an offer of incentives that the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council and Germany presented last month.”

Whether it is considered weakness by the other side or not.... I would have given diplomacy a chance... but, not after years of it.. Iran would have been attacked a long time ago if it was me.
That is what separates our country from others, is that our country has done acts of benevolence in the passed.
