I have to amend that to put Pope John first. (blush)

I just got home and want to thank you for the ping and the thread. I’m not a frequent poster, but I’m on FR several times a day and always followed Tony’s threads. I am so sad at Tony’s passing and send my sympathies to Jill and their children and of course all the Snowflakes. We all feel such a loss.

"A cherished man of uncommon decency"...is what the president said of Tony at his service.

Amen to that!

“We don’t know much, but we know this:
no matter where we are, no matter what we do, no matter how bleak or frightening our prospects, each and every one of us each and every day, lies in the same safe and impregnable place in the hollow of God’s hand.”
Tony Snow

Definitely a keeper! Amen.

It looks like a webcam...kind of jerky motion like one. Maybe, they’ll have a way.

Tony was on loan from God. I’m just sorry He wanted him back so soon.

Jill didn’t want the funeral televised. I wish I could see it, but it’s her right.

losing it!

They kept their family life private, and I do respect that.

I think it would have just hurt too badly to be there and
hear all the lovely things being said.

A somber Bush had a special message for Snow’s three children. The president said he often called Snow on the weekend seeking his advice, and would find that he was helping his kids with homework or cheering them on the soccer field.

“He loved you a lot,” Bush told the three children. “I hope you know we loved him a lot, too.”

Bush was accompanied by some familiar faces from earlier in his presidency, including former top adviser Karl Rove and one-time chief of staff Andrew Card.

“He knew the job of a reporter was vigorous. He understood the profession and always treated it with respect,” said Bush, who traveled to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception to pay respects to his former lead spokesman.

His was a life that was “far too brief,” the president said of Snow.

Will be at that service in spirit!

Reality really does suck sometimes! Just miss those wonderful times on the Tony threads! Snowflakes are scattered, and it’s good to run across their posts occasionally on other threads, but it’s hard not to miss the old days (boy, guess I am getting old!!). Will miss Tony’s perspective......helped me to see things clearly even if I disagreed. I remember the thrill it was the first time he answered a post. Those were good times. I still feel such a closeness with my fellow Snowflakes!!! How about a Snowflake graphic for old times sake!! ;>)
