Interesting, in the article, the “surge” in building is NOT due directly to new fantastic pro-growth building codes in NYC, but rather avoiding new onerous anti-growth restrictive codes. The new permits were issued PRIOR to the new codes taking effect.
So, basically builders wanted to get in before the ZOT.
