"Hundreds of Denver's homeless could be cooling their heels in a movie theater or museum while the Democratic National Convention is in town next month.

The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless plans to get 500 movie tickets as well as passes to the Denver Zoo, Denver Museum of Nature and Science and other cultural facilities for the people it helps.

Bus tickets will be provided for events beyond walking distance, said John Parvensky, the non-profit's president."

Well, who would have know that the homeless problem would have been solved by tickets to the zoo and movies? Do they get free popcorn too?

Guess it beats that episode of the Simpsons where they fed Springfield’s homeless to Homer after he became a blob from space.

If I owned, or worked at, a movie theater right now, I’d be concerned.

they’re just trying to get them all in centralized locations so they can give them cigarettes in exchange for votes like they did in the last two elections

They should be in the zoo as exhibits.

They should be in the zoo as exhibits 30 or so years ago in Dallas some tuxedo rental place was getting new tuxedos in for the high school prom season, they gave away a lot of them to the homeless, they were a sight to see and should have been on exhibit. Bums all dressed up and no where to go.

I'd be careful if the movie theater looks like the inside of a cattle car. They might find themselves on a train to Alaska.

I'd be closing my shop, boarding up the windows and giving my employees some time off. Maybe I'd also put up a sign stating "Closed on account of Hope and Change".

Those movie theaters will need to be disinfected and sanitized after the homeless sit in them.

At least at the zoo the animals won’t complain about the smell.
