Schools in the urban districts of my state spend more per pupil than tuition at the local Catholic schools.

In New Jersey and New York, I don't doubt it, because those are the top two states in per-pupil spending in the country.

I'm curious, though....there is also a higher percentage of Catholics in that area than in this area. Do the dioceses subsidize the churches where you are? Does that account for some of the difference?
