Police have launched an investigation after an anonymous package containing a noose was sent to an Orlando commissioner.
Someone sent a noose to Orlando Commissioner Daisy Lynum, and police are investigating it as a threat.
The small rope noose, delivered to Lynum's City Hall office Friday, was turned over to the Orlando Police Department. The anonymous package carried no return address.
''There was no name, so to me it's like the cowards in the Ku Klux Klan who wore hoods over their faces,'' Lynum said. ``This just shows there is still ignorance in our society.''
Last week, Lynum prompted an uproar when she called for removal of a 1930s photo from Dubsdread Golf Course that showed a young black man wearing no shoes as he caddied for white players.
Lynum, who had received a complaint about the photo from a black golfer, called the photo offensive and said it belonged in a museum, not at the city-owned course.

If this turns out to be a hate crime the perp will get life in prison.
Based on recent incidents it's possible she mailed it to herself.
Not saying she did though.
I may be wrong but the track record for these “noose” incidents shows that the receiver is usually also the sender.

"In the last week, I have been called (expletive) more times than I have ever been called probably in my life for calling a white boy a white boy," Lynum said. "Now, when did that become a racial slur."
She was under ethics investigations for calling the police chief claiming her son was pulled over for "racial profiling."

Why doesn’t she stand up and call for her brother and sista rappers to stop using the word nigger and ho. Oh yeah that’s right, then nobody would vote for her. Can anybody say the words, double standard?

I would think that something like this will only incourage some other wierdos to mail even more nooses as a joke.

In Treasure Island they gave them a black spot...had a CO who used to leave you one of those in your in basket if you screwed up.

It is Obama’s fault, and the Dems...seriously, he/they are making things worse with race relations, firing up both sides.
Almost without exception these “noose” incidents turn out to be hoaxes by the “victim.”
...there was a reason for lynching during the late 1800s/early 1900s....it was due to the spike in rapes of white women and little girls by negroes....after they raped them they would slash their throats and butcher them....I’m not saying lynching was right....I’m just saying whites weren’t going to tolerate it any more....and it wasn’t just in the South either...
