The rest of Jim's piece:

~snip~

Logan: Isn’t that the case now? I mean, do you really think that if the U.S. forces had Osama bin Laden in their sights and the Pakistanis said no, that they wouldn’t fire or wouldn’t go after him?

Obama: I think actually this is current doctrine. There was some dispute when I said this last August. Both the administration and some of my opponents suggested, well, you know, you shouldn’t go around saying that. But I don’t think there’s any doubt that that should be our policy, and will continue to be our policy.

Logan: But it is the current policy.

Obama: I believe it is the current policy.

Logan: So there’s no change then.

Obama: I don’t think there is going to be a change there.

And that Obama and Logan get stuck in a merry-go-round of "I'll get the Pakistanis to destroy the training camps"/"What if they won't?"

Obama: I think that in order for us to be successful, it’s not going to be enough just to engage in the occasional shot fired. We’ve got training camps that are growing and multiplying…

Logan: Would you take out all those training camps?

Obama: Well, I think that what we’d like to see is the Pakistani government take out those training camps.

Logan: And if they won’t?

Obama: Well, I think that we’ve got to work with them so they will.

Logan: But would you consider unilateral U.S. action?

Obama: You know, I will push Pakistan very hard to make sure that we go after those training camps. I think it’s absolutely vital to the security interests of both the United States and Pakistan." ---

Again, it's not that it's never dawned on Musharraff or the Pakistani government that cracking down on al-Qaeda and Taliban training camps is a good idea. It's that they fear the entire region would turn against the Pakistani government, with additional questions of loyalty of the ISI.

The media can pretend that this is ‘new and interesting’ while it is just diplo-babble from a guy who never had to make a life-or-death decision in his life. And has cavalierly thrown about these options as though he lives in a universe without consequences (well, at least when it comes to the media, he does....).

Obama is right. The real invasion in Iraq occurred in August 2001 prior to Bush flying planes into the world trade center. The vote in 2002 and the subsequent ‘invasion’ was really just a coverup for the illegal war that was already going on.

What an ignorant and condescending jerk. Every day he says something more ludicrous than before. He also said he might be president 8 or 10 years!?!? Stuck on blithering moron!

I absolutely DETEST Lord Obama.

It can't go on like this forever. I have to think there will be a backlash at some point from regular decent Americans...?? There has to be a breaking point.

It kind of reminds one of this scene in A Few Good Men:

Lt. Weinberg to Cmdr Galloway: "I strenuously object?" Is that how it works? Hm? "Objection." "Overruled." "Oh, no, no, no. No, I STRENUOUSLY object." "Oh. Well, if you strenuously object then I should take some time to reconsider."

Well, the main stupid thing in this interview is that Obama is answering hypothetical questions. Bush rightly refuses to do that because they really serve no valuable purpose.

That’s nothing... I have a debate memory for ya.

Forget it, the bastard’s scrubbing the youtube videos.

Remember in a debate he was asked what if there’s another attack on America and you know who did it, what would you do? He compared getting Homeland more strong citing Katrina as example, then went totally tangent... without answering the question. You might as well say ‘police action’.

You would think the stinking, freedom loving democrats had something to say about these violations of our free speech rights.

If they haven’t said anything about mandatory conscription for the National Security Civilian Force, they’ll never speak up. Don’t bother to look, he scrubbed that too.

I guess I lost that video as well.

I don't why it continues to be said that by invading Iraq, we gave up the search for OBL. I sure our military can do both with equal perseverance.

A lot of words but nothing new or news worthy.
Nobama acts like nothing has ever been done about Bin Laden since the war began.
Al Queda has been seriously degraded and many of the top officers have been caparured killed or driven under ground where they are basically useless.
A first term junior Senator speaks and proves that he lacks the maturity and knowledge to be the Commander in Chief.

I loathe BOM and his wife, Michelle. Who, by the way, is now ‘one of the beautiful people’, a celebrity in her own right, or at least as a reflection of BOM. She’s featured in the celebrity magazines, a la Paris, Madonna, etc.. What will they do when he loses? The press coverage is sickening, and it’s just going to get worse until McCain stands up on his hind legs and tells it like it is and BOM makes a hugh mistake, something the press can’t whitewash or ignore.

"And first of all, if we hadn’t taken our eye off the ball, we might have caught them before they got into Pakistan and were able to reconstitute themselves. Several times in recent interviews, Obama has referred to "taken our eye off the ball" in terms of the invasion of Iraq, which began in March of 2003. We don't know precisely when Osama bin Laden entered Pakistan, but it is generally believed that he escaped Tora Bora and crossed the border sometime in late November or the beginning of December 2001."

Gee, Barry we have already captured some of Bin Laden’s top henchman and are holding them in GITMO. However, you want to turn them loose or give them US civil trials. What if we captured Bin Laden, what would you propose we do with him? Would you favor taking him out or would that not set well with the pacifist crowd? You said that the reason we were attacked on 9-11 is that we were too arrogant ...should we then allow you to apologize to Bin Laden? Be careful what you wish for.
