Mr. Hentoff seems to believe that FDR was the previous Messiah. Not surprising he was taken in again, this time by Senator Obama.

I believe Hentoff is mistaken about the immunity provision of the FISA bill. Telecommunications companies must be given immunity for actions which they were assured were legal by our government, and with reason: they affected only foreign suspects acting in foreign countries who inadvertently used US data center equipment. That said, he has been a stalwart supporter of the First Amendment and is one of the few honest liberals left in America. He also knows a fraud (Obama) when he sees one.
