I realize you’re a n00b, but we have these things called “paragraphs” we’re fond of using here on FR.
It's mostly but not exclusively the GWB/Rudy type Republicans who are conservative on foreign policy but liberal on domestic issues. They don't agree with Paul on a damned thing. The Paul hate here on FR was a lot worse before Jim gave the forum the ol' enema of '07.
And how should it be done?

If I'm able to stomach McCain's running mate enough to vote for him, I will, rest assured, be ingesting at LEAST two illicit substances before doing so.
It’s not inconceivable that a very small handful of extremists would be angry enough about America’s foreign policy that they would attack us. People around the world don’t see things the same way we do.
If an American air strike kills some poor uneducated Arab farmer’s son, and he is approached by Al Qaeda, the farmer doesn’t really care if the air strike was justified or not. He will want revenge and if shown enough about America’s involvement in the world, he can easily be radicalized into thinking America is the great evil empire trying to conquer the world. These people are taught to hate us and by being involved in their politics all the time it fuels much of their hatred.
Am I blaming America? No.
Am I blaming America’s foreign policy? To an extent yes.
There are other factors but to ignore our foreign policy just because it seems like it “blames America” would be ignorant.
Hell, you could make the case that someone who thinks Al Qaeda attacked us simply because we are free is blaming America because America is free (and if we weren’t free they wouldn’t attack us). It’s a stretch but it’s possible (btw NOT MY POSITION!!!).

Nor do I. Even the 4 way spectra don’t do a good job of expressing how one feels. I oppose many things at the federal level, but I’m not against some of those things at the state level. The spectrum doesn’t take things like that into account.
Make no mistake about....Paulistians are not on the same side as the GOP. His supporters are racist, truthers, dope heads and wackjobs.

That's what I don't understand...who cares what Paul does? The Democrats are the real threat here...not Paul.
I never said McCain wasn't better than the Messiah. Of course he is. I'll probably hold my nose for McCain, after getting wasted the night before.
He never would have pulled a stunt like this when he was edged out by Ford in 1976.
The GOP never cheated Reagan out of his primary victories either, like they did to Paul in Nevada and Louisiana.

Dude, they're not part of the political process to begin with! These are folks who just didn't give a rip about politics until Paul came along. When are you going to comprehend this?

Of course they should. Look, people get the sense that politicians simply aren't talking about the issues that matter. There is a huge disconnect here. That's why these people don't vote or vote 3rd party. McCain should attract these people, he could at least reach out to Paul and seek his advice on economic matters, for starters.
All the while running a sideshow in St. Paul that will finally give Paul the spotlight he craves.
Well, the GOPWe got 8 years of the Clintons thanks to Perot pulling this style of nonsense and now Paul wants to reprise it. wasn't going to invite Paul anyway. He wasn't going to get a primetime speaking slot, and even if he had, the Paul bashers will be complaining about it anyway.
Now he's doing his own thing and the haters are still bitching about it.
Paul is not on any ballots nor has he endorsed anyone. How will he affect the race?
The result of the Ron Paulers not voting for McCain will likely be that Obama wins, but to say they want to work for an Obama victory is just flat out dishonest. They simply don’t want to settle for the disappointing candidates the two major parties have given us this year.
Words! Wnnting or working for an Obama victory....the result is exactly the same.
I agree they are words, but words mean things. Regardless of the results, saying third party voters “want to work for an Obama victory” is dishonest. That kind of arguing is a favorite of liberals. They are not “wanting” or “working” for an Obama victory, they are trying to tell the establishment they are fed up with the sorry choice of candidates we have this year.
Then allow me to change my words. Third party voters will make an Obama victory far more likely. They need to THINK about the ramifications of this, particularly with regard to national defense (which Obama wants to reduce even more than Clinton), surrendering ourselves to the decisions of the UN (including givng more of our tax $$ to the world poverty initiative), the surety of horrible appointments to the courts, nationalized (and therefore horrible) health care, tons of more taxes, and a far more acute energy crisis.....and his basic disregard to the right to life of unborn human beings.
He beats Obama.
Much better! Yes, there are going to be consequences when people vote third party, but it isn’t all their fault. McCain has worked very hard to alienate a good chunk of the base, and he doesn’t seem to concerned about getting them back. There will be plenty of blame to go around after this election is over.
The results we are left with an Obama presidency WILL be the faults of all registered voters who didn’t vote for McCain. It will also be the fault of many politicians who have not honored the trust placed in them. McCain was not my first choice either, but compared to Obama, it is my firm belief that he must be supported.
