I skipped Nascar in the 70s and 80s when we spent weekends at our cabin on the Klamath River but now I will see a story from that era where a winner was 3 or 4 laps or more ahead of 90% of the field and when someone beat Richard Petty it was big news.

Sunday was a disaster for Goodyear and Nascar and most of all the fans that paid big money to be there. I wonder if there was anything that could have been done to the spoiler to unload the right side tires...

I don't know if much of anything can be done with this tank-like vehicle. :)

After I've given it some thought, I really don't understand why it side loaded so bad compared to the older cars and/or Indy cars.

Do you think too light of a spring package, causing excessive roll-over, be the culprit? Didn't seem like there was ANY wear on the left side tars. Or if there was, I never saw it.

Isn't it convenient that most have forgotten the multi-lap victories of the 70s?

It was all in the big wing!
