A whole new industry is springing up that will dwarf Al Gore's ripping off of the population through Global Warming.
Companies are figuring out how to work the ridiculous "Carbon Credits" debacle to make big bucks.
Rhodia, is a French Company, makes adipic acid which is a chemical used in the production of nylon. They have moved their operation to South Korea and Brazil. Why?
A by-product of their manufacturing process is the creation of nitrous oxide, a greenhouse gas that is over 300 times more potent as an atmospheric warming agent than carbon dioxide. Rhodia destroys the nitrous oxide after it has been created and then claims carbon credit reimbursement for the green house gasses it has eradicated.
Rhodia, makes more money from this scam than they do from their primary business, They are raking in around a three hundred million dollars a year - more money than the whole of Africa is from Carbon credit reimbursements!
Others will soon jump on this gravy train (that we will soon be funding if the Dems have their way) and a whole industry of how to leverage the system is sprouting up even as we speak.

I thought ponzi schemes like “carbon credits” were illegal.
Its called Cap and Trade, and the Democrats in Congress, who are also holding up drilling, are trying the pass this Carbon Emissions bill and it will hit everyone in this country, at every level. If the Dims can find another way to squeeze blood out of a turnip, they will, and all Americans are the turnip!!
There are so many ways to game this.

How about luggage weight credit for airline baggage? If a passenger is underweight in luggage (or has only carryon or one bag) then they should be allowed to sell the weight credit and the airlines should be algore forced to accept it.
(I still want dessert credits. If I buy the dessert credit from someone who did not eat their dessert, I will get a guaranteed no fat sweets credit.)
Something went wrong with your post. The article title is, “Laughing Gas: How To Game the Carbon Markets” and it is by one Keith Johnson, not Wil H
What about no luggage at all? Trouble is that tends to raise eyebrows with the TSA and you get a spanish inquisition...which of course no one expects.
Laughing all the way to the bank!
Step one of Gores proposed plan of action calls for the federal government to establish a carbon-offsets reserve. The reserve, modeled on the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, would have the government purchase carbon-offset certificates from Generation Investment Management, a London-based company with offices in Washington, D.C., and store them in underground vaults for later use.
The former VP dismissed critics complaints that the plan is self-serving (Gore is the chairman of Generation Investment Management). This is no time for finger pointing or arguing about the cost, Gore insisted. The American people must make sacrifices if I am to save the nation and the planet.
Senator Obama praised Gores vision, promising to name him Environmental Czar and incorporate his proposal into a comprehensive energy/environmental plan once he is elected president.

I would really like to plant a whole bunch of trees on my property. Is there someone who will pay me to do it?
* Make all carbon credit scams unlawful. Discrediting Algore should have been a slam-dunk a long time ago. Stop electing Reps who buy into the Global Warming / Global Cooling / Climate Change Hoax. CO2 is not our enemy!
I would like to neglect the lawn so the grass grows 4 feet high. You suppose I could get somebody to pay me to sit on my butt on the weekend?
Sorry, Honey! I can’t mow the lawn! I already sold the Carbon Credits!
There are government forestry programs that do this. I am unsure if the landowner has to pay for something for this, but the more acerage, the better. They bring in crews with machines and plant by the acre. However, the people I know who have done this mention that it is largely evergreens, which emit terpenes.
I’m going to build a factory whose sole purpose is to create CO2. Then I’m going to get paid carbon credits to NOT create CO2. I’ll basically have an empty factory that produces nothing but rakes in a fortune!
(All because some dummicrat sheeple want to feel good about themselves. Now that’s what I call intelligent wealth redistribution!)
You are not thinking straight.
Nitrous Oxide is 300 times more polluting in the eyes of the Whackadoodles, so the income from Cap and Trade is 300 times bigger.
And you can even sell some to dentists, but it might not be so profitable.
But you WILL be able to "laugh all the way to the bank"...LOL
What about Weyerhaeuser, Georgia Pacific, Boise Cascade, etc? Don't they deserve massive carbon credits for the many millions (maybe billions) of trees they plant and nurture annually?
OK - nitrous oxide it is. Except I won’t be selling to any to dentists. The goal is to get paid to produce NOTHING. :-D
Let us know when you start selling stock and I’m in!!!
My cousin is a nuclear physicist and we are trying to come up with some way to scam the global warming kool aid drinkers. And if we get caught we can use Al Gore the biggest scammer of all as a defense!!
Let’s throw Soce Security in that category as well!
so what company, or nation gives them the carbon offset money?
What is wrong with the preceding logic? Everything perhaps.
Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant. It is a trace gas that is necessary for life on earth. It does not cause global warming. Global warming causes the oceans to release carbon dioxide. After ten years without a temperature trend, it may be that the earth is about to cool. More greenhouse gases may be a good thing. Maybe its time to start paying people and companies to release carbon dioxide. My hunch is that governments who want green house gas cap and trade revenues, don't want green house gas cap and trade expenses. Funny thing, that. One thing we know - the science is not settled.
How about cap and trade as a market efficient way to regulate pollution? It may have its place. But let's remember that government decision is far from perfect. This seems like a risky scheme that governments may latch onto as a way to increase their revenues, and as a way of distributing American wealth to well connected citizens of foreign nations.
