I’m going to build a factory whose sole purpose is to create CO2. Then I’m going to get paid carbon credits to NOT create CO2. I’ll basically have an empty factory that produces nothing but rakes in a fortune!
(All because some dummicrat sheeple want to feel good about themselves. Now that’s what I call intelligent wealth redistribution!)

Anyone with a triple digit IQ could see that Carbon Trading is a scam to benefit those who are involved directly (and maybe indirectly) in the trading. It has to be one of the biggest con jobs ever. Hopefully the public through the alternative news channels (Internet, blogs, talk radio, etc.) will catch onto this fraud and put an end to it before it can really get started.

Im going to build a factory whose sole purpose is to create CO2.You are not thinking straight.
Nitrous Oxide is 300 times more polluting in the eyes of the Whackadoodles, so the income from Cap and Trade is 300 times bigger.
And you can even sell some to dentists, but it might not be so profitable.
But you WILL be able to "laugh all the way to the bank"...LOL

“I would really like to plant a whole bunch of trees on my property. Is there someone who will pay me to do it?”
What about Weyerhaeuser, Georgia Pacific, Boise Cascade, etc? Don't they deserve massive carbon credits for the many millions (maybe billions) of trees they plant and nurture annually?

OK - nitrous oxide it is. Except I won’t be selling to any to dentists. The goal is to get paid to produce NOTHING. :-D

The Oregon Small Woodlands Association (in cooperation with the American Tree Farm System) is already suggesting their membership apply pressure to the Government (both Oregon and US)to make this offset program (Carbon Sequestration) a reality..........Bad News! Hate to have those types of organizations involved in this Ponzi schemes. Tree farmers grow trees for other reasons. Tree growers receipt of these “ill gotten gains” does nothing to reduce (the highly suspect) green house gas accumulation.

If you believe that carbon dioxide is a pollutant, then government may have a role in its regulation. Superficially, a cap and trade system to create a market seems to make sense. The reasoning is that if pollution is to be reduced, let those who can do it cheaply do so first. If the preceding reasoning applies to one greenhouse gas, carbon dioxide, why not all? It can apply to water vapor, the most common greenhouse gas “pollutant.” Think of that the next time you water your lawn.
What is wrong with the preceding logic? Everything perhaps.
Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant. It is a trace gas that is necessary for life on earth. It does not cause global warming. Global warming causes the oceans to release carbon dioxide. After ten years without a temperature trend, it may be that the earth is about to cool. More greenhouse gases may be a good thing. Maybe its time to start paying people and companies to release carbon dioxide. My hunch is that governments who want green house gas cap and trade revenues, don't want green house gas cap and trade expenses. Funny thing, that. One thing we know - the science is not settled.
How about cap and trade as a market efficient way to regulate pollution? It may have its place. But let's remember that government decision is far from perfect. This seems like a risky scheme that governments may latch onto as a way to increase their revenues, and as a way of distributing American wealth to well connected citizens of foreign nations.
