I’m starting to believe that the poll numbers Obama is receiving now are skewed by the Doug Wilder syndrome.

In the past decade, poll exit interviews consistently show a 5-8% higher “vote” for black candidates than the actual vote turns out to be. I predict this year’s discrepancy will be 15 - 18%.

As a young man I was very familiar with your namesake.

I’m not sure I buy into the “Wilder Effect” as represented by the MSM, which is that White people are reluctant to admit they don’t support a Black candidate to a pollster.

To say: “Since we don’t know why the polls are off it must be racisim.” is way too convenient a way to slander a large group of people as rednecked racists. It satisfies too many elitist preconceptions to be true.
