Here's another contradiction: He spoke in Berlin "not as a candidate, but as a citizen of the world" or words to that affect. Well, a "citizen of the world" can certainly visit injured troops in a military hospital.
I've heard MANY politicians (mostly Republicans) will visit VA hospitals WITHOUT A NEWS CREW - gasp! - because it is the right thing to do. Barry could have visited the troops in the hospital - maybe one or two would have been from Illinois - and visit as a US Senator! What a concept.
It would also be an opportunity to see a "reverse-Patton" whereby an injured soldier slaps the crap our of Barry for being a coward and stinking up a place of honor, then send Barry to the front.
