He did adopt some sort of conspiracy theory that the FCC was out to get him. You would have thought George Bush was up nights just thinking about him, the way Stern went on and on. Of course nothing came of it.

Maybe Franken did plant the seeds of insanity in his head.

That was the reason he supposedly went into satellite radio. To avoid being fined by the FCC. A lot of good it did him. He was the hottest thing going and now he's virtually invisible.

And fafa-fooey right back at you.

Isn’t it funny, throughout history you see the people who support a regime, get it into power and follow along behind eating the table scraps are almost always the first to “figure it out” and be put against the wall and shot????

Those who do not learn from history are condemned to repeat it, perhaps Stern will not so be quick in the future to disrespect others without understanding what it is like to be in their shoes.

Now we know why the left will do everything it can to kick Stern off the air.

Stern is a Libertarian. Somewhat close to my own Paleolibertarian leanings. Plenty of people call me immoral, and I probably am.

I don't go to church, and I don't care to be preached to. I'm an agnostic. Conversely, I like religious people because they tend to be more sunny and cheery. Atheists just seem to always be bitter. I'd rather live next door to Ned Flanders than Michael Newdow.

I don't get offended when I see a nativity scene. I get offended when someone demands one be taken down. I don't get offended when people bring up God and Jesus, I get offended when someone tells them they can't. I don't get offended by “In God We Trust”, in fact I'd like to have a lot more of those little pieces of paper with “In God We Trust” in my wallet. I don't care about gay marriage, but I'm pretty damn pissed about how it came to be.

I own a weapon and am prepared to use it to defend my person and property. I like sex and want to have it as much as possible, but I sure as hell don't want schools making the decision of when my kids should be exposed to it, or usurping my right as a parent by handing out condoms and pills.

I'm not politically correct. I will continue to say “black hole” and “red hots” and “yellow fever” and “Canadian Bacon”. Don't take offense at my words when you know full well I didn't intend to offend you. When I DO intend to offend you, you'll know it.

I don't like war, but I HATE losing one. I refuse to accept that defending the border is a racist position. I resent the position that it's my responsibility to support financially, people who are breaking the law by their mere presence, and I reject the position that it makes me a bad person. I am a member of the Republican party, because I have the ability to reason. The alternative is unacceptable. I'll deal with differences in my own party ONLY AFTER I've defeated the opposition.

You share many of Stern's libertarian qualities except he thought religious people of any stripe were boobs to be scorned.

Even the happy ones.

a regime, get it into power and follow along behind eating the

Or have the wall pushed down on them to crush and kill them...

Cases in point:
1. IIRC, I saw an interview with one of Castro's devoted soldiers
that went with him through Castro's "long march" through the
hills of Cuba and into power in Havana.
As soon as he disagreed with Castro, it was into jail.
But he managed to survive and get to the USA.
(I think this was on FOX, maybe an episode of Oliver North's series.)

2. The coalition of The Muslim Student Association and the
GLBT (Gay-Lesbian-Bisexual-Transgender for you folks in Rio Linda,
as Rush would say) on the UCLA campus.
Al Rantel, a gay Republican talk-show host of KABC Radio in
Los Angeles often mused about how if the Muslims in The Muslim
Student Association actually got real power in California...
...their first act would be to put their GLBT friends in front
of a wall.
And then to push the wall on top of the GLBT contingent.

Sorry - mine was a rhetorical response. No offense intended.

I have wondered for some time why, considering the similarities in their political beliefs; Democrats aren’t referred to as Communists more often...

Note to Howard: You don’t like democrats. Big deal. So vote for Nader, and stay away from us. There are children here.

You are absolutely right! As much as I have enjoyed Springsteen's music, especially live in concert, I have never enjoyed his preaching. He is the very essense of "Shut Up and Sing!"

Also, he's a bit of an opportunist musically. He may have had an original sound (probably when he had a band called "Dr. Zoom and the Atomic Boom") but he lost himself trying to be the next Dylan, which led to stealing Tom Waits' sound and routinely poaching talent from poor Southside Johnny's Asbury Jukes. Now he's just covering ol' commie Pete's tired songbook. Which is fitting as Seager--through The Weavers--represents the beginning of the dissemination of a Marxist message to youth through "popular music."

I long ago concluded Springsteen was a total fabrication of CBS Records' marketing department.

Thanks always to John Hammond.

Absolutely right! He had a profound effect on our culture -- he thoroughly coursened it. Now, he's there but not there. Like you said, virtually invisible.

I'm reminded of a quote from Clint Eastwood where he told a reporter he was of the party where everyone leaves everyone else alone.

I want to use that line on an Obama devotee who stands in my way on the sidewalk during their current registration drive.
