Seems as thought this paper has it almost 180 degrees out. It is Hagel that is putting his personal welfare ahead of the Country's.

The only reason that many people outside of Nebraska know anything about this jerk is because he is acting like McCain did... as a “Republican” who sides with Democrats.

I am really disappointed with this guy. I never thought I’d see this from him.

From the article;

“It would be difficult to find anyone more Republican or conservative on every issue except Iraq."

Co-sponsoring Obama's Global Poverty Act (S. 2433) is far from conservative......but considering the current state of the GOP, it prolly is Republican.

Hagel has just returned from a congressional trip to Iraq and Afghanistan with Barack Obama, and yet he says ...

"... “I do not intend to be involved in the presidential campaign,” ... Hagel ... "

Obviously Hagle went there on a farce finding mission, which just happened to be coincidently timed with Obama-lama-ding-dongs one world tour campaign.

The only good thing about this guy is that he's retiring.

Nebraska would have been better off electing Johnny Carson to replace Hagel, at least Carson would have had some jokes to keep ‘em laughing, and after he checked out, he wouldn’t cause any problems for America OR Nebraska.

A previous post on FR explains a lot about Hagel’s interests in the Mideast.

Shall we see how right Chuck Hagel has been about Iraq to this point? *ahem*

"It's Alice in Wonderland," Sen. Chuck Hagel, second-ranking Republican on the Foreign Relations Committee, told me in describing the proposal [for a troupe surge]. "I'm absolutely opposed to sending any more troops to Iraq. It is folly."

That was interesting, wasn't it? Alice in Wonderland, eh?

Now let's watch Chuck backpeddle and attempt to cover his own ass.

"Quit talking about the troop surge. Get out of that. We're done with that. How are we going to project forward?" the Nebraska senator said. "What are we going to do for the next four years to protect the interest of America and our allies and restructure a new order in the world. ... That's what America needs to hear from these two candidates. And that's where I am."

Hagel, too, opposed the troop increase strategy, though he acknowledged Thursday it brought about positive changes. "When you flood the zone with superior American military firepower, and you put 30,000 of the world's best troops in a country, there's going to be a result there," Hagel said.

Yes, I would imagine Hagel would want to project forward, naturally, since projecting backwards reveals the massive shadow cast by his incompetence. Oh, but now he supports the troops and acknowleges "the world's best troopes!!!!!" Why, yes, there's going to be results with those guys.

Har Har Har!!

Do you think we'll see the same praise from the drives-bys for Zell Miller or Joe Liberman? These people have their noses so far up the dems anus's, for all practical purposes they are an appendage of the dems.
