I believe we took them alive in Afghanistan in the belief we could gain useful intelligence. Instead, what a nightmare this has become.

We did gain intel....the hard way. The detainees want to lawyer up, the courts want to grant them rights and the Dems want to allow them access to the US. More US troops have faced a Courts Martial than any of the combatants. The sensible solution is to send them back to the point of capture and let the locals there dispense justice.
