Kris Alingod - AHN News Writer Washington, D.C. (AHN) - Speaking during his weekly radio address on Saturday, President George W. Bush thanked lawmakers for passing a landmark AIDs bill and reiterated his administration's broader goal of fighting extremism around the world by combating hunger and disease.

The Senate passed by a vote of 80-16 a $48 billion measure called President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) last week to fight AIDS worldwide. The House passed its version of the bill in April.

Bush said the legislation is "the largest international health initiative dedicated to fighting a single disease in history" and "a testament to the extraordinary compassion and generosity of the American people."...

That’s enough treasure on AIDs. Way out of proportion compared to other major illnesses, disgusting AIDs political pandering.

You’re saying AIDS and HIV aren’t linked? What are they?

I never could figure why the democrats have always gone berserk at the sound of President Bush’s name.

From the beginning of his first term, starting with the Kennedy “No Child Left Behind” program, he has carried their water for them.

With President Bush in office we got saddled with more liberal programs and out of control spending than if there had been a democrat in office.
With a democrat president at least some of the Republicans in Congress would have fought against the excesses of the last eight years, but they just rolled over for Bush because he was a member of their own party.

I almost choke when I hear media hacks and lefties rail against Bush for being too conservative!!

What a joke!

He never met a multi billion dollar hand out that he didn’t embrace.

==You’re saying AIDS and HIV aren’t linked? What are they?

According to a growing number of scientists and medical doctors (many of them with very impressive credentials), HIV is a harmless passenger virus, whereas AIDS is really a number of completely unrelated diseases that have been artificially lumped under the current AIDS definition. They claim that the vast majority of cases in the US and Europe are simply drug users who have blown out their immune systems because of long-term, end-point drug abuse. In Africa, they claim that they are dying of the traditional diseases associated with poverty, malnutrition and poor sanitation. Finally, they claim that the very drugs (read: highly toxic chemotherapy drugs) they use to treat AIDS patients are themselves killing people off by the tens of thousands...which, if true, is very unfortunate for the poor Africans Bush's AIDS bill is designed to help.

For more, you might want to to a peek at my profile page. There you will find a number videos and articles that will help you understand where these scientists are coming from.

All the best—GGG

PS If you're interested, I would be glad to add you to my (infrequent) Rethinking AIDS ping list. It's time to reopen the question as to what really causes AIDS!

Is what you are saying in all respect provable or a pet theory? I suppose I can see what you are saying but then what about HIV being deadly. It makes sense that when a disease wears down your immune system you will die from simple things. I just don’t understand how they can get that so wrong.

Its all about the legacy. The legacy drives the last 6-8 months of a President’s term—its makes them do very dumb things.

How right you are.

McCain will be just as bad and Obama will be worse than that.

Conservatism is entering a dark period.

Pissing money down a rathole! Alzheimers will overtake AIDS in about 10 years when the baby boomers bong resin settles and thats 10,000 times a more f’d up disease!

About the same time your generation is forced to use solar powered mopeds for family vacations to the local park. Of course you'll all be required to wear glo-painted protective suits, and over sized shock absorber helmets with flashing lights on them...For your own good.

And with the influx of foreigners into the U.S. all the diseases that have been eradicated will be back, like Bubonic Plague, Small Pox, flesh eating bush rash, and you'll be eating ground up imported Chinese mulch, for when you get the mulchese!
