You sir, are correct.

So, why choose to charge him with bigamy, instead of polygamy?

Are they legally the same thing, or is there a difference?

Did they have some reason for that choice?

I find it odd they went with bigamy, don’t you?

Technically bigamy is polygamy. I don't think Texas has a polygamy statute per se.
