For me, I’m just not convinced by his claims of a late life transformation on a lot of conservative issues such as abortion and gun rights. I’m not one of those who ‘can’t stand Romney’, but I would feel a little uneasy if he were on the ticket. This, in addition to already being uneasy with the prospect of president McCain.
I’d vote for them, but not too enthusiastically.
“For me, Im just not convinced by his claims of a late life transformation on a lot of conservative issues...”
I had the same problem with him initially but when there wasn’t any other viable candidates left espousing the conservative perspective, I somewhat reluctantly fell in line behind Mitt. I’m still not sure whether he is a genuine conservative or not. But the reality is we haven’t had a real conservative choice since Ronald Reagan in the 80s. So Mitt wouldn’t be the first wolf in sheeps clothing on the ticket in recent decades (i.e., Bush I & 2, Nixon).
I used to be VERY pro abortion, unfortunately. And I can tell you, emphatically, I have changed completely.
It does happen.
