Politics: "I'm trying to save the planet," declares House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, which is a lot for one person. Maybe she should just try to save herself from the embarrassment that comes with spouting such inanities.
"I'm trying to save the planet; I'm trying to save the planet," she responded. "I will not have this debate trivialized by their excuse for their failed policy."
If the San Francisco Democrat's magisterial narcissism isn't off-putting enough, her intent should be. She's saying that her importance to the survival of Earth transcends our system of open government, elections and power-sharing. Because she's trying to save the world, she can't be challenged and dissent will not be tolerated.
Pelosi's arrogation of power is not unlike that of the monarchs of old who claimed a divine right to rule. And, just as queens had kings, the speaker has a male imperial sitting on the adjacent throne: Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. Obstructionism by Reid, D-Nev., who freely uses the trite phrase "we cannot drill our way out of the problem," is also costing Americans at the pump.

Thank you 2006 voters for enabling this radical, moron socialist nutcase take over our House. She should be in a straight jacket and put on large doses of Prozac. The radical left, again thanks to those voters who really showed the Repub party what they thought of them, now has a choke-hold on America that is doing, and will continue to do, major damage to this country.
And just look ahead to the horrifying possibility of these nutcases teaming with another radical socialist nutcase in the White House who will sell out America in a heartbeat.
Just imagine how much damage such a “team” will do, and has already said it would do, to America. The Dream Team is coming your way America.

The 30 years old pipeline will stop pumping if the volume per day drops below 300,000 barrels per day. It's at 700,000 now down from over 2 million per day.
There is a lot riding on keeping the pipeline up and pumping.
Best estimates are that with everything “fast tracked” oil could be flowing to the pipeline in 2-3 years from start to finish.
Bush missed a golden opportunity to use the “Bully Pulpit” today to call Pelosi and Ried out by name as obstructionists along with the whole Dem party. What the hell is he afraid of?
