OK.....what video? I went back and checked but I didn't see a video?? I usually watch videos when I see them. The interview in question (where McCain insists repeatedly that "everything is on the table") was televised on ABC's "This Week" on Sunday. I don't know if the interview is available online (couldn't find it in a quick search), but Stephanopoulos tried to pin McCain down on the question of tax increases; McCain just repeated that all options were on the table. There was no ambiguity as to what he was talking about; he was talking about tax increases.
I don't think he meant it, but yes, McCain is stupid.

John McCain dropped bombs on communists. That's not stupid. Barak Obama made friends with communists like Bill Ayers. Now that is stupid.

Funny how so many people are delusional over McCain. The guy is a liberal.
Even funnier is someone here really thinks that McCain is going to appoint conservative SCOTUS justices...man how do people forget McCain was one of the Gang of 14 liberals blocking Federal Court judges.

I will vote for him I suppose. We all will if we are smart. Obama is just too terrible in too many ways, especially when I think of how he will invigorate our enemies and inspire more ruthless attacks on innocents, not too mention placing our troops in increased jeopardy. We will vote for McCain because it is our civic duty to keep someone with Obama's character and intentions of the office. I agree with you that John McCain is absolutely the worst candidate of my life time and I am an old hag. But know the right thing to do.
That is why I am supporting Ann Coulter's movement to Get Drunk and Vote For McCain. I don't drink but I am assisting other people in getting drunk enough to vote for McCain and driving them to the polls.

The guy is a liberal.
Please, don't hollow out the term.
When people on the right start labeling everyone they have a disagreement with a "liberal", it renders the term meaningless and powerless.
Like the little boy who cried "wolf", you damage all of our credibility everytime you cry "liberal".

People who are drunk are far more likely to have impaired judgement and motor skills.
A certain percentage of drunk McCain voters will emerge from the voting booth having voted for Obama, accidentally or otherwise.
And yet another percentage will have mistakenly voted for Pat Buchanan.

Listen, he is a genius. He knows that the media will not pay attention to anything he says, unless it is provocative. This way, he gets some cameras pointed at him, at the very least. He can “explain” his “real” position-—and he gets some free face time with the news outlets.
Obama has tons of money, and loads of love from the media, who cover up his mistakes.
McCain has to be sly in how he spends his money.
At least that is what I hope is going on!

McCain is dumb as dirt, yes. He thinks he can solve oil prices by regulating speculators. The man is no genius that’s for sure. And no fiscal conservative either.

What it means is that he is going after a Social Security solution in a big way. He will be facing a Democratic congress. If he walks in the door with a no tax increase promise, the Democrats have no way to compromise and no alternative but to vote no.
With taxes on the table there is a very good chance that we will get privatized accounts. The Democrats will get a boost in the cap. With taxes off the table, we get nothing and they get nothing and the looming debt will go to the currency. The dollar will freefall.
Yes, he is trying to thread the needle but this is probably the most important issue of the campaign. The next President HAS to succeed on this or we will all pay a terrible price. He may not want an increase and he may fight it tooth and nail but he cannot take it completely off the table.

Even funnier is someone here really thinks that McCain is going to appoint conservative SCOTUS justices...I don't think he's going to appoint someone like Scalia, Alito or Thomas. Given that the potential Justices that might resign are ultra-liberal, however, someone who is moderate like O'Connor is much better than Ginsburg or Stevens.
Yes, McCain might appoint a Souter, but Obama is no doubt will appoint a Ginsburg or even an Obama!

Yes, he keeps digging a deeper hole upon opening his mouth.Yes, yes he does.
From the WSJ article:
Then this week in San Francisco, in an interview with the Chronicle, Sen. McCain called Nancy Pelosi an "inspiration to millions of Americans." Notwithstanding his promises to "work with the other side," this is a politically obtuse thing to say in the middle of a campaign. Would Bill Clinton, running for president in 1996 after losing control of the House, have called Newt Gingrich an "inspiration"? House Minority Leader John Boehner, facing a 10-to-20 seat loss in November, must be gagging.
I simply don't think I can get drunk enough. This is the best the GOP/RNC can do?
