The California birth certificate for the child of a woman who shot video of John Edwards' presidential campaign lists no father, a newspaper said Thursday.
The National Enquirer published a story that said Edwards is the father of Rielle Hunter's child. A former Edwards aide, Andrew Young, has said he is the father.
The Charlotte Observer obtained a copy of the birth certificate, which lists no father, even though Young claimed paternity before the girl was born.
A lot of women do that, Young's lawyer said when asked why his client's name was not on the birth certificate.
The Enquirer reported last fall that Edwards, the former Democratic senator from North Carolina, had been having an affair with a woman who had been working as a videographer for a documentary on his campaign. The tabloid later reported that she was pregnant and living in Chapel Hill, N.C.

A simple DNA test will show who’s lying.
Not while Edwards wife is still around.
Bet she knows all about what really happened.
Big problem for his kids. If he is the father...I can’t say what I want to.
Do you think Edwards gives a rip about how your kids feel? Or About his ambulance chasing money rush that dried up OB-Gyn's malpractice insurance in his state...
scr#w him, scr#w his family and I hope his kids realize what a giant POS their dad is.
Just like a Kennedy or a Clinton ..... wow your dad is famous..... and a POS!!!
Neat, legacy for the libs. bwahahahahahaha... Liberals just need to keep telling us how compassionate all the libs are.
i’m sure that john, and his pal made it worthwhile for mrs. young to keep her mouth shut
Did you hear about his most recent escape today?
"Special Report with Brit Hume" featured a very funny story about John Edwards appearing at some sort of fundraiser at a hotel today, but he left the hotel by sneaking away through a backroom window.
Can you imagine some random rear-entry window opening up, and seeing John Edwards sneaking out of it?
He is clearly guilty of something if he is running away from the media in such a cowardly fashion.
With unmarried couples, California State law requires both parents to sign a Declaration of Paternity form prior to the father's name being put on the birth certificate. If the father is not present, his name may be added to the birth certificate at a later date after proper forms are obtained from the Department of Vital Records.
Odd how Young publicly states he's the father, but has failed to do this. Also, it's strange (NOT an attempted thread hijack) the Charlotte Observer was able to obtain a birth certificate for this baby, but all other media outlets cannot verify Obama's.
Edwards is still a f*g. Coulter is right.
“but he left the hotel by sneaking away through a backroom window.”
Are you freaking serious? LOL. I LOVE it! John Edwards goes hurtling out the window like a teenager sneaking out past curfew.
Classic.
Goodness...did he muss his hair?
Seriously though, you're right. What a cowardly man he appears to be.

That is because, "conveniently", Hawaii is one of only four states that require the consent of the subject to obtain the cert.
heh, heh.
Looks as though, when it comes to Edwards, there really is TWO AMERICAS. His legitimate American life and his illegitimate American one.
Someone was able to get this birth certificate, but no one can get BOs?
When my grandson needed a copy of his birth cert. I had to sign a statement under penalty of perjury that I was his
grandmother. And pay $15. This was in California.
