Update - A GOP staffer just informed me that post-adjournment protests by the minority party are not unprecedented. The Democrats did it back in 1995, when the Republicans were in control. Democrats placed a big photo of then-Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) wearing a diaper in the Speaker’s chair. Republicans note they are being more respectful this time.
Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas), who was on a place headed home, headed back to the Capitol, walking onto the floor dragging his luggage. He got a standing ovation.
Rep. John Shadegg (R-Ariz.) called it a “new Boston Tea Party!”
Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.) said he was “not leaving until we call this Congress back into session and vote for energy independence.”
Rep. Tom Cole (Okla.), chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee, said the dimly lit chamber is a “vision of the future by the Democrat Party - the lights are out, there’s no power, and the air conditioning is gonna go off soon.”
anybody know a dry-ice retailer in the DC area? they are going to be hot soon if the AC goes off for the weekend!
PERFECT!!!! I can't rally around the dud at the head of the national ticket, but I actually feel ENERGIZED after witnessing these GOP members make a stand to try and enact what is obviously needed in the country (MORE DOMESTIC OIL).

FOX NEWS URGENT QUEUE:
Urgent: I-view with Rep. Pence on mock session
MEDIA ID: RAW-REM232-1335-3PS2143A
Per Pergram-Capitol Hill
We will be feeding back an interview shortly from the Hill with Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) about the mock session Republicans have drummed up.
In the interview, I ask Pence if he would kindly escort our Fox camera onto the floor to witness this. He said there are rules prohibiting private video or photographs from the floor and was unwilling to do so. He also said Republicans would stay on the floor until Democrats require them to leave.
Good bytes. Runs about 5 minutes.
