I have come to the conclusion that Barack Obama did not plan to win the Democrat nomination in 2008. I think he wanted to make a strong showing in order to position himself for 2012 or 2016. At the absolute outside, perhaps he wanted to get picked for VEEP. That way he could bide his time and run as a stronger contender, either against the Republican incumbent in 2012 or to be Hillary Clinton’s replacement in 2016.

In January 2016, he will still be in his mid-50s, which is plenty young to be President. If he had actually spent 8 years as VEEP, he would be an absolute shoo-in.

But then Hillary had to screw it all up by falling apart after Super Tuesday and those obnoxious Obamaniacs had to go out and vote for him, over and over again. So here he is with the nomination in hand, and no way to win the General Election.

But this is now-or-never time for Barack. If he doesn’t win here, he will be a historical footnote by next Spring. So he is going to give it his best shot.

My husband and I have had that same conversation several times. Michelle O was serious when she previously said, "we weren't suppose to be here", meaning ahead in the primaries and on the way to winning the dem nomination. She didn't want Obama to run now but I feel he convinced her it would be okay because it wasn't about winning this time.

I think Oprah gave him a big boost, and started him thinking he could actually do it. Soros made him his puppet early on, and that helped, too, giving him the cash to be independent. Then he had a major decision—”do I go after Hillary and piss her off, or do I act like Joe Biden and try to be VP?” He went after Hillary, and it worked. No one liked her, period. He got lucky, but he also deserves credit for taking a risk and having it pay off. If Hillary had won, he would be in a big dog house at the base of Fort Marcy Park.

That sure makes a lot of sense.
