Cantor is married to Diana Fine and they maintain a kosher home.[3] On June 8, 2005, Cantor defeated Jim Nachman, the Democratic nominee and Independent candidate Dr. Brad Blanton. Cantor received 64% of the votes.

Cantor is a supporter of strong US-Israel, cosponsoring legislation that would cut off all U.S. taxpayer aid to the Palestinian Authority and another bill calling for an end to taxpayer aid to the Palestinians until they stop unauthorized excavations on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.[4] Responding to a claim by the State Department that the United States provides no "direct" aid to the Palestinian Authority, Cantor stated that United States sends about $75 million in aid annually to the Palestinian Authority, which is administered by the U.S. Agency for International Development. Cantor also stated that Congress approved a three-year package of $400 million in aid for the Palestinian Authority in 2000.[5] Cantor's cousin, Daniel Cantor Wultz, died as the result of a suicide bombing in Tel Aviv which was carried out by Islamic Jihad on April 17, 2006.

He's the Republican Lieberman.

I'M IN. This guy is HOT.

Very Conservative: Would be a big help to energize the Base especially with Mac’s age.

Very Jewish: Might help with the Jewish vote who’d love to see a Jewish VEEP.

Very Virginian: Could help keep VA in the GOP column.

Very Young (45): Compared to McCain. He’s a year younger than Obama.

Only problem: No Congressman has been elected Prez. since Garfield in 1880.

Another stroke of genius from the bird brain. That’ll get us the worst possible of tickets, though it could be argued that any ticket led by McPain would qualify for that “honor”. What a revoltin’ development this is.

Hm, never knew this guy, but he sounds passable. EXCEPT: does he have any experience outside politics? That is Romney’s great strength; he knows what runs the real world outside the Beltway, he’s a proven troubleshooter in both public and private arenas, and he was an accomplished governor (of the deepest-indigo state no less). He hasn’t been as consistently conservative as I’d like to see, but his real-world experience and accomplishments are compelling, and valuable in how they complement McCain’s own strengths and weaknesses.

Cantor sounds good, but I need some convincing the ticket (and the Administration) would work as well as with Romney as VP.

IMO, Eric Cantor would be a great choice. Much better than I would expect from McCain. I say, go for it!!

He is very squishy on AMNESTY.

NumbersUSA gives him a recent "D" score on AMNESTY for illegal aliens.

In fact, in the Virginia delegation, he scores in the lower bottom, the upper half being more hard line on Amnesty.

He is horrendous on LEGAL IMMIGRATION taking away jobs from Americans it would seem.

Of course, none of this matters, since Juan McCain would a) grant blanket Amnesty and b) have Juan Hernandez as his illegal alien advisor, regardles of what any Vice President would say or think.

This makes sense; McCain would have nobody out shine him like Romney. Any VP choice that is better known than him, or who pointed out his many faults earlier on in the primaries would not have a chance.

This newer, younger choice, who very few people know anything about will just be another McCain lapdog. (We know him too well.)

Actually, this is sort of funny to watch. It’s like a bunch of dogs in a pound starving and the dog catcher occasionally throws them a dry bone to salivate over.

But in the end you still get little to nothing, named Juan Cap-N-Trade McAmnesty.

I'm surprised that this (falling off the cliff and losing readers faster than the Road runner getting away from Wiley coyote) leftist rag didn't mention Tim Pawlenty.

IMO, more than 50% of McCain's decision will come from who will best promote his getting elected and if his numbers in Minnesota maintain what they are to date, Pawlenty will be viable for the polls show him to be running very close to Obama in Minnesota which is unprecedented for a Republican running for POTUS.

I know enough about Cong Cantor to say that he is a hardcore conservative. He would be a solid pick for John McCain. 45 years old and winner of four elections with 67%, 69%, 75% and 64% of the vote in his district. And he would help attract more Jews to the GOP ticket.

Eric Cantor's conservative record and political history makes Myth Romney look like Karl Marx.

If McCain thinks that a Jewish conservative will bring in Jewish votes and a restrained media he’s off his rocker.

Obscurity is the last thing to worry about. If McCain were to choose Eric Cantor as his running mate, it would make headlines around the world. Something so history-making would give McCain a major boost, and bring new appeal to voters who normally would never vote Republican.
