Immigrants Deported by American Hospitals
Racism! Anti-Immigrant sentiment! No person is illegal!
Is there any doubt that liberalism is a mental disorder?
WTF. Good lord. Check out Canada, they are having problems too. This guy forged his passport and other crimes. He’s still there.
Western civ. is doomed.

A very hard working couple we know, have a mountain of medical bills because the husband, who is self employed, didn't have insurance and was diagnosed with cancer at his young age.
They both work hard, but he is now uninsurable. To their credit, they are paying off their bill while living in a mobile home.
I have absolutely no sympathy for this man.

You’re on to something...instead of shipping illegals back to their home country, the hospitals should just drop them off at the back door of the NYT offices.
Goodbye, don’t let the door hit you in the arse on the way out.
No sympathy from me.
That’s what I am so mad about. Our military needs upgrading in health care and other benefits so badly.
**And once again the NYTs wants to pull at our heart strings for an ILLEGAL invader.**
For both the NY SLIMES and the ILLEGAL INVADER ... My GIVADAM’s busted .. you BOTH can go straight to HELL
Te hospital is just working as an “undocumented border patrol agent” that is all!
And where would "the court" going to get this $30,000.00? Why from the taxpayers, of course, which kind of defeats the purpose, doesn't it?

The NY Times’ position: lets be the health insurer of every illegal invader.

Inforwarrior...that’s why I appended the (sound of crickets) tag.
As in, you’ll never see the judge and lawyers that brought the case
get all that compassionate and pony up the $$$ from their pockets in
order to be sure the fellow gets back here immediately.
(and then squeeze the hospital/taxpayers for the $$$).
Some day I’ll learn to include the /sarc tag!
NP... Thought that was the general thrust of your comment ; )

“I say the NYTs should be charged for his stay and extended treatments and should foot the bill for the hospital expense that has been rung up already.”
Rather than fly the guy back to his hom country the hospital should have just dropped him off on the NYT’s doorstep.
I paid family health insurance for 20 years, and my employers paid dearly too, and the one and only time I had to visit the ER was when my leg hurt so badly I thought I had a bone injury. They took xrays and said nothing was wrong and to take Tylenol and go home. Later an RN at my doctor's office diagnosed what I had as neuropathy from shingles.
In all, I took up less than an hour total of hospital personnel's time, and they failed to diagnose what I had. But that didn't stop them from sending me bills for hundreds of dollars, even though I had paid thousands of dollars in premiums for service never needed over 20 years.
And yet, undocumented families line up for free healthcare at the same ER and are charged nothing. They never paid all the insurance premiums I did. They paid nothing.

If there are citizens that Obama can point to and shout they are dying for lack of care, then these uninsured illegal aliens should be on air ambulances to their home countries as soon as their vital signs are stabilized. Then we bill their home country as soon as they land. If not paid, we take the amount of all remittances to the person’s home country.
If their home countries cannot and will not pay for their citizen’s care, then the last choice option is to deny care to those who are not citizens.
After the San Francisco murders last month, it’s not as if they’re not already killing our citizens. And taking up space in our over-run hospitals is merely a lesser degree of murder.
For the cost of sending the reporter, they could have contributed that much to the cost of his care at home. Could pay for a nurse aid or equivalent for a year or two in that country.
I’m not seeing what the problem is. Mexico should be taking care of her own people. In addition, if he was injured by a drunk American, why didn’t he get a huge settlement for his medical treatment? Something’s not right with this story.
