Midland, TX (LifeNews.com) -- A Chinese couple is happily living in Texas after escaping both religious persecution and a potential forced abortion for breaking China's one-child family planning law. Bob and Heidi Fu are but one example of the human rights problems Chinese people face despite China's holding the Summer Olympics.
When Fu and his wife discovered they had become pregnant with their first child -- without getting permission from the government -- they knew they had to leave the country.
"My wife was pregnant without the pregnancy permission card. You know in China the one child policy [applies] even for the first child," Bob Fu told NewsWest 9.
The Asian nation has strict requirements about couples getting pregnant and forces them to be married and of a certain age at the time of the birth.
"She faced danger of forced abortion, and no hospital in Beijing would allow to do a basic physical test," Fu told NewsWest 9.
The couple made their way to Hong Kong and eventually received religious refugee status with the help of the U.S. government.
Now that the Fus live in the United States, they told the local television station that they can enjoy the religious freedom America affords. He is now a staff pastor at Mid-Cities Community Church and no longer fears religious persecution.
"When I sit in the congregation every Sunday morning in this peaceful gigantic building, and people can choose to worship whatever way they want," Fu said.
"They can jump, they can sing loudly, and they can dance, and chose to be quiet, it really touches my heart," he said.
Fu, in China, eventually became a house pastor and was thrown in jail for his views.
Thank God they found freedom!

This means that the U.S. government is IMPOSING its religious views on the government of China! The government of China is being told that its religious views are “wrong.” That’s FORCING our views on the government of China. I know this is true because many people on Youtube have told me that, by expressing my views, I am FORCING my views on them.
good post thanks
That’s all well and good, but there are probably 50 million Chinese couples who want more children. We can’t let that many in.
