Hollywood Takes on the Left (a right wing movie with right wing Hollywood actors and producers)
Weekly Standard ^ | August 4, 2008 | Stephen F. Hayes

Hollywood Takes on the Left David Zucker, the director who brought us 'Airplane!' and 'The Naked Gun,' turns his sights on anti-Americanism. by Stephen F. Hayes 08/11/2008

David Zucker is sitting in a high-backed director's chair with his name on it. (I'd always assumed they were just used for effect in movies, but here one was.) Zucker is looking at a monitor showing the inside of an empty New York City subway station. It's actually just a set--a stunning replica of a subway station--and it sits 15 feet to Zucker's right.

The first assistant director breaks the silence.

"Action!"

The set jumps to life. Two young men--both terrorists--enter the station. They are surprised to see a security checkpoint manned by two NYPD officers. "I'll need to see your bag, please," says one of the officers. The lead terrorist glances nervously at his friend and swings his backpack down from his shoulder to present it to the cops. Just as the officer pulls on the zipper, however, a small army of ACLU lawyers marches up to the policemen with a stop-search order. The cops look at each other and shrug their shoulders. "This says we can't search their bags."

The young men are relieved. They smile fiendishly as they walk toward the crowded platform. As the lead terrorist once again slips the backpack over his shoulder, he mutters his appreciation.

"Thank Allah for the ACLU."

Zucker's latest movie, An American Carol, is unlike anything that has ever come out of Hollywood. It is a frontal attack on the excesses of the American left from several prominent members of a growing class of Hollywood conservatives. Until now, conservatives in Hollywood have always been too few and too worried about a backlash to do anything serious to challenge the left-wing status quo.

Great read. Thanks for posting it. I haven’t been to a movie in years and years, but I just might go see this one. I’m a big fan of the two “Airplane” movies, and “the Naked Gun” movies to a lesser extent. That this movie will be specifically poking fun at the left gives me reason enough to see it, not to mention supporting the few conservatives in the business, which are often treated like diseased lepers by most of the communists that have taken over Hollywood and churn out stinker after stinker all in an effort to promote their idiotic agenda.

Interesting. Wouldn’t be sweet if this movie shatters some box office records.

I'd love that. Especially since all of Hollywood's recent anti-war movies have tanked.

The best thing: timing of the film's release--October 3

I hope it's still in theaters when I come home in November. I'll happily pay top dollar to see that one and to support it.

Doesn’t the armed forces still get first run movie privileges for on base theaters? You could possibly see it before any of us. :)

When I lived in Italy as a teenager (military brat), we did.

In the war zones...not so much. We can get $3 bootleg DVDs of first runs, but I want to make sure I pay to see this one so the movie producers reap the benefits. If it DOES pop up on our base theater, I'll be there with bells on! :)

**Some actors in it, I never thought would be conservative.**

Ahhhhh! I’m so glad to see that “I’m not the only one!!”
Not only are some actors Conservative, we’re also FREEPERS. For the longest time I thought I was only one of a few.
Episode 4 ... Hollywood— A New Hope ??

Until Trey & Matt come up with a sequel to Team America, this'll have to do.

Heh, that's the last movie I saw in a theater. And my son has it on DVD.

I just may go see this one at the movie house.

There is also another great movie coming out, Whiskey for my men, Beer for my horses

Toby Kieth, Willie Nelson, The Nuge.

Here is the Video, the first link is a trailer for the movie.

Hay Jim, a couple of good movies coming out!

I used to have it on DVD, but loaned it out, never to be seen again. I can't even find one to buy now, much less rent.

I'll check your video link tonight, thanks. The title sure sounds promising ~ if it was a lib flick they'd probably substitute Date Rape Drug for Beer in the title.

Mary Hart??

This explains it. I saw the ET Christmas interview (don’t ask me how, my GF watches it) and she was GENUINELY happy to meet the First Couple Bush, and was very nice to Laura Bush. I have heard the underground rumors that she’s a Republican, and it’s starting to look that way.

Kevin Sorbo is in it as well? Thanks for the roll call.

Subaru??

Wrong. You should drive a Prius with an Obama sticker. I live close by the Crossroads of the World, and the parking lot is still riddled with Kerry_Edwards stickers.(placing more attention of them voting for losers).
